Employers are facing several risks when it comes to employment selection as well as training and development programs. An organization must, therefore, ensure that statements, overtures as well as advertisements are not suspect as well as ensuring that there is no form of discrimination in its selection process. There should be no references to age as well as gender but instead, be based on the description of the job. Selection is entailing all the activities aimed at choosing a suitable candidate from the applicants to fill a given post while training is consisting of the processes aimed at ensuring that the job holders have the right skills, attitudes as well as knowledge towards achieving the objectives of the organization. New em[loyees should be given an induction program where they are capable of meeting other employees as well as showing the skills they must learn. Organizations thus must have a detailed training scheme which can either be on the job where skills are acquired through experience at work or off the job where learning is via attending courses (Larsen, 2017, p. 114).
Organizational, as well as industrial psychologists, usually use a different process in selecting new employees regarding what the organization needs. The selection is enabling the organization to screen out individuals who are not suited for the role. Step 12: Write the Risk Assessment Summary Report
Throughout this project, the necessary information has been assembled to provide your boss Maria with a risk assessment so that she may begin developing a long-term risk management strategy. This final step is compiling that information into a cogent "summary report" for presentation to company executives. This report will summarize the Vulnerability and Threat Assessment with the addition of the Risk Assessment just completed.
It is critical to provide recommendations to help the organization implement effective information risk management practices. Use findings in the previous steps to recommend risk management strategies such as least privilege, separation of duties, mandatory vacation, risk management technologies, and others you have found appropriate.
Remember, the recommendations included in the report should address all aspects of the research—business, economic, and technical reasoning for the conclusions.

1. Purpose
The purpose of the PAD 771 Capstone seminar is for students to demonstrate that they have
successfully mastered skills developed during studies in the MPA program. The student
develops a term project on a policy-related problem in a specific jurisdiction. The problem
selected must be related to the student’s area of specialization. The project submission consists
of three components:
the project essay which is in the form of a 12-page memorandum,
a 2-page executive summary in memorandum format, and
twelve (12) presentation slides to support a presentation of your cover memorandum.
Students are expected to choose a topic for their capstone projects during the initial weeks of
the course, according to a schedule specified in the syllabus for the course section. (The general
parameters for the schedule are set out in the section on "Course Timetables" below.) The
student completes a “Project Definition Worksheet” which the section professor must review
and approve before the student proceeds with further development.
2. Prerequisites
Completing the MPA Qualifying Examination (MPAQE) is a prerequisite to enrolling in the
Capstone Seminar. For information about the MPAQE, see the MPAQE Student Guide, which is
accessible from the MPA Newsletter or the MPA section of the college website. For MPA-PPA
students PAD 715 and PAD 739 are required prerequisites or co-requisites, and for students in

What is process evaluation?
Process evaluation uses empirical data to assess the delivery of
programs. In contrast to outcome evaluation, which assess the
impact of the program, process evaluation verifies what the
program is and whether it is being implemented as designed. Thus,
process evaluation asks "what," and outcome evaluation asks, "so
what?"
When conducting a process evaluation, keep in mind these three
questions:
1. What is the program intended to be?
2. What is delivered, in reality?
3. Where are the gaps between program design and delivery?
This workbook will serve as a guide for designing your own process
evaluation for a program of your choosing. There are many steps involved
in the implementation of a process evaluation, and this workbook will
attempt to direct you through some of the main stages. It will be helpful to
think of a delivery service program that you can use as your example as
you complete these activities.

papers is to stretch the depth and breadth of your knowledge. You should feel
well prepared to teach a course in TOCs after completing this course. The
research papers and PowerPoints you create could serve as the basis for such
class. Additionally, you will find that this course and the course CJUS701
Comparative Criminal Justice Systems complement each other very well.

quite easy to study and some countries and/or crime/topics have very limited

MPA Capstone Project Rules
Spring 2020 Version 1.2
1. Purpose
The purpose of the PAD 771 Capstone seminar is for students to demonstrate that they have
successfully mastered skills developed during studies in the MPA program. The student
develops a term project on a policy-related problem in a specific jurisdiction. The problem
selected must be related to the student’s area of specialization. The project submission consists
of three components:
the project essay which is in the form of a 12-page memorandum,
a 2-page executive summary in memorandum format, and
twelve (12) presentation slides to support a presentation of your cover memorandum.
Students are expected to choose a topic for their capstone projects during the initial weeks of
the course, according to a schedule specified in the syllabus for the course section. (The general
parameters for the schedule are set out in the section on "Course Timetables" below.) The
student completes a “Project Definition Worksheet” which the section professor must review
and approve before the student proceeds with further development.
2. Prerequisites
Completing the MPA Qualifying Examination (MPAQE) is a prerequisite to enrolling in the
Capstone Seminar. For information about the MPAQE, see the MPAQE Student Guide, which is
accessible from the MPA Newsletter or the MPA section of the college website. For MPA-PPA
students PAD 715 and PAD 739 are required prerequisites or co-requisites, and for students in
MPA-IO, PAD 715 and PAD 758 are required prerequisites or co-requisites.

What is process evaluation?
Process evaluation uses empirical data to assess the delivery of
programs. In contrast to outcome evaluation, which assess the
impact of the program, process evaluation verifies what the
program is and whether it is being implemented as designed. Thus,
process evaluation asks "what," and outcome evaluation asks, "so
what?"
When conducting a process evaluation, keep in mind these three
questions:
1. What is the program intended to be?
2. What is delivered, in reality?
3. Where are the gaps between program design and delivery?
This workbook will serve as a guide for designing your own process
evaluation for a program of your choosing. There are many steps involved
in the implementation of a process evaluation, and this workbook will
attempt to direct you through some of the main stages. It will be helpful to
think of a delivery service program that you can use as your example as
you complete these activities.

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to discuss the
generational gaps that are found in the workplace
today. With multiple generations working together,
and the oldest generation having to work longer and
retire later, generational changes are occurring in the
workplace and for management. There is a lack of
communication and understanding between the
different generations caused through differing values
and goals. Younger generations are also entering
different fields than those that were popular for older
generations. There is a serious new problem in the
workplace, and it has nothing to do with downsizing,
global competition, pointy-haired bosses, stress or
greed. Instead, it is the problem of distinct
generations — the Veterans, the Baby Boomers, Gen
X and Gen Y — working together and often colliding
as their paths cross.
Individuals with different values, different ideas,
different ways of getting things done and different
ways of communicating in the workplace have always
existed. So, why is this becoming a problem now? At
work, generation differences can affect everything
including recruiting, building teams, dealing with
change, motivating, managing, and maintaining and
increasing productivity All of these ideas are
explored, discussed, and evaluated, through looking
at current research on the topic and case studies that
have been conducted not only in the United States but
around the world.

Throughout the years, as the population has continued to
both grow and age, it has caused generational changes to
take place in the various aspects of life. With the changes in
the demographics of the world’s population, there have also
been changes in how each group thinks and what they
value. This not only affects the way people behave in their

Advertising is one of the most common forms of visual persuasion we encounter in everyday life. The influence of advertising in our society is persuasive and subtle. Part of its power comes from our habit of internalizing the intended messages of words and images without thinking deeply about them. Once we begin decoding the ways in which advertisements are constructed, once we view them critically, we can understand how, or if, they work as arguments. We may then make better decisions about whether to buy products and what factors convinced us or failed to convince us.
What are the different forms of advertising?
Modern media comes in many different formats, including print media (books, magazines, newspapers), television, movies, video games, music, cell phones, various kinds of software, and the Internet. Each type of media involves both content and also a device or object through which that content is delivered.

Successful brands possess two characteristics. Top-of-mind are brands a consumer mentions first when asked about brands in a particular product category – these are brands in our Evoked Set. Top choice is the brand within a product category that consumers prefer the most. So top choice requires top-of-mind. Brand equity, which is the level of brand strength perceived by consumers, leads to top-of-mind and top choice brands.
This is also applicable on the B2B side when business people are faced with modified rebuy situations. A common dilemma I had was for every Fox Graduation Ceremony, there are three per year, and the need for graduation program booklets. There was a printer who I always wanted to hire because I enjoyed working with them, they always had fair prices and delivered high-quality programs in a timely manner. However, due to non-profit regulations, I had to bid the job to at least three vendors. So my top-of-mind, first choice brand was always included but I had to add two other vendors as well. Abstract
The focus o f Adlerian therapy is to help individuals discover their resources and
strengths, and to help them to be more encouraged in reaching their goals in a more
functioning way. Recently, the positive psychology movement has become the ma
jo r focus for researchers and mental health providers. Adlerian theory and ensuing
humanistic approaches have been considered as the basis of positive psychology.
Positive psychology— like Adlerian theory— calls for looking at individual strengths,
virtues, and areas of well-being. This article describes an Adlerian-based group coun
seling program which integrated positive psychology interventions with youth in a
residential treatment center. This article describes how Adlerian theory aligns with
the positive psychology interventions, along w ith recommendations for practitioners.

There has been an increasing interest in focusing on strengths, solutions,
resilience, and thriving of individuals even after traumatic experiences.
Alfred Adler has been considered as the forefather of such strength-based
approaches (Erguner-Tekinalp, 2016; Carlson, Watts, & Maniacci, 2006).
Within the last two decades, an interest has grown in studies and interven
tions examining human strengths, virtues, and well-being with the increas
ing popularity of the positive psychology movement (Seligman, Steen, Park,
& Peterson, 2005). Positive psychology is defined as the scientific study of
optimal human functioning (Seligman & Csikszentmihalyi, 2000). The goal
of this alternative movement is to understand well-being rather than dis
order, and not only how people recover or cope but also how individuals
and communities thrive and flourish (Seligman, 2011). An effort has been
made to change the focus of mental health professionals from focusing on
what has been harmful in problematic and traumatic events to how individu
als cope with, develop resilient capacities for, and even in some cases thrive
through these negative experiences. The focus is more on what goes well
with individuals rather than what goes wrong (Carlson, Watts, & Maniacci,
2006). This approach to helping is more complete as it identifies not only

After completing the assessment, my Signature Theme Report produced the following results: Communication, Relator, Individualization, Consistency, and Strategic. When I first saw the themes presented, I was a little skeptical at first but after reading the detailed descriptions I felt like it made a lot of sense and mirrored a lot of what I had already thought about myself.
A core value that I would like to continue to strengthen would be the value of acceptance. One of my top five themes was relator which explained that I have a comfortability with gravitating towards people I already know and building relationships from there. I don’t have issues with making new relationships, but I can see that sometimes I close myself off initially to embracing new ones. With acceptance, you have to understand that there are some situations you can control and some that you can’t but embracing the latter can lead to new experiences that could be beneficial (Riley, 2021). Another core value that I would like to improve upon would be calmness. This fits in well with my theme of consistency. While I am a firm believer of things being fair and consistent, I can get easily upset when things don’t balance out like they are expected to. I know that working on being calm in tense situations will help me adapt easier when things don’t always work out as they should.
One of the strengths that I would like to embrace fully and continue to improve upon is communication. It was no surprise to me that communication was at the top of my list for my themes. When I am in a position of leadership at work, I make it a priority to keep my staff updated on everything that is going on for that night and it is something I expect from my charge nurse when I am working the floor also. A communicator is only effective when they are aware of their style of communicating and how others perceive or respond to it (Marshall & Broome, 2021). As a communicator I know that I can always work on how I communicate non-verbally and with body language especially. The other strength that I would like to continue to work on is of being strategic. The report explained that the strategic theme fit me because I am able to sort through the clutter and find the best route when I am trying to accomplish something. I really believe this about myself because when I have a task I need to accomplish, whether I am in a leader position or not, I will break everything down and reorganize it to make sure I have come up with the best solution. I feel like the best way to do something is the way that makes it concise and without a lot of excess getting in the way.
A characteristic of mine that I would like to strengthen would be that of instinct. My theme of individualization points out that I have an instinct about others and how they work and function. I have always felt that I easily read people and can get a sense of who they truly are and for example in the workplace how they are as a staff member. S.

NARRATOR: Advocacy and change are closely intertwined. In this video
program, Dr. Judy Lewis defines advocacy and explains the roles of counselors
advocating for change. Dr. Lewis also describes barriers counselors may face as
they advocate for change, and how to overcome these barriers.
DR. JUDY LEWIS: At its most basic, advocacy is simply the act of speaking up
on behalf of someone else-- maybe speaking up for someone who is voiceless or
powerless.
When it comes to the counseling profession, advocacy is particularly important
for two reasons. One is that part of our process of working with clients is to help
them gain the strength and the skills so they can advocate on their own behalf.
The other part of it is that once we realize that the client might not have the
power to be able to speak up on his or her own behalf, sometimes we may have
to be the ones that speak up on behalf of the clients.
This happens especially when we see a lot of different clients all having similar
problems, and we realize that there is a systemic reason for it. There is
something in the community environment that is standing between these clients
and what they need.
So as counselors, when we're oriented toward advocacy, what we are doing is
changing the lens through which we see the client. Instead of looking through a
microscope at the individual client, we're looking through a wide-angle lens. So
that we're seeing the context of what's happening in the client's life.
When counselors carry out advocacy, they do this at several different levels. One
level is the level of working with the individual client or family. When you're
working with an individual client, you have two alternatives. One is to work in an
empowering way with the individual so that he or she learns to advocate for
himself or herself.
The other possibility-- when that doesn't provide all the answers-- the other
possibility is to do advocacy on behalf of that individual. When we're working with
the clients in an empowering way, what we're helping them see is the degree to
which some of the problems that they're having may not be totally their fault.
When people start feeling as though they're so much at fault, sometimes they just
get stuck and can't seem to move beyond their current situation. If they can begin
to see for themselves what some of the barriers are that are preventing them
from getting to where they want to go, and where sometimes they're not

The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
