2. Are there any potential hazards that could pose a
health and safety risk where you take your
photoshoot?
I am aware of what could happen yes, with one location being in
Newcastle City Centre it means there could be crowds or it could
be busy, this could be a similar case in Sunderland and on the
Tyne Bridge. With the Tyne Bridge there is a potential hazard
with cars passing by us while shooting. In the studio at
Sunderland College there is a potential hazard with the likes of
trailing cables being around.
3. What will you do to minimize the risks?
In order to minimize the as many potential as possibly I will
make my model and anyone else working around the location
aware of the problems we may potentially face during the shoot.
For possibly shooting at Bede College I will make sure any cables
that are trailing and may cause someone to trip up are safely
hidden away or clearly highlighted so people can clearly see.
4. Will the time of day/weather effect the
shoot?
The time of day and the weather can effect the shoot in the
majority of my locations (St James’ Park, Tyne Bridge and The
Stadium of Light) as they are in public and will solely have
natural lighting. This is the reason I have included the studio at
Sunderland College because it does not depend of the time of
day or weather. So in order to make sure that the weather has no
effect on when I am shooting I will have to look ahead at the
weather forecast.
5. Have you considered the back ground to your photos,
particularly if taken outside? How will you ensure you will
get the background you want?
In choosing my locations I have thought of the background, with
the likes of The Stadium of Light and St James’ Park likely to
feature. My reasoning for wanting a background to this is
because it emphasize and make my magazine stand out as being
regional and based within the North East. However a
background for me is not crucial as I want what is in the
foreground to be what readers are drawn and focus on, this is
because in the likes of other regional magazines such as ‘CRACK’
don’t seem to have backgrounds.
6. Have you considered lighting? Have you
considered the reflective objects that might spoil
the photo?
I have considered the lighting as the majority if my locations will
only have natural lighting, which will have an impact on the
photos. This proved to be a problem last year in that using
natural lighting proved to be a problem and made some of my
photos unusable. That is why I have included Sunderland College
as an option as the studio there will have the correct and
appropriate lighting for my shoot.
7. Finally, have you thought of every
eventuality?
Well I think that it is almost impossible to think of ‘every’
eventuality however I have thought of as many outcomes as I
could, from the best possible out to the worst and what may
happen in-between.
For example the best possible put come would be that my first
choice model is fit and well enough to do the shoot as well as
the weather being good and not being a problem to the shoot,
and no real issues cropping up. The worst would be the opposite
of that .
