3. • Iron is a part of all cells and does many
things in our bodies.
• For example, iron carries oxygen from
our lungs throughout our bodies.
• Iron also helps muscles store and use
oxygen.
6. What happens if we don’t
eat them?
• When you don't get enough iron in your
body you may get anemia, excessive
menstrual bleeding, learning disabilities,
low body temperature, dizzy spells, weak
and/or tiredness.
• You may also go pale in the face and need
to rest more in excercise.
• When you are low in iron, your brain and
organs are being starved of oxygen.
