Preface
This portfolio is a compilation of various documents, videos, reports, and
documentations gathered during my practice teaching internship . This compile the
tasks and accomplishments that I did during my almost three months of being a
student teacher. In this portfolio I am presenting an overview of my student
teaching experience which shows my own understanding of teaching as well as
compilation that will help me define my teaching philosophies and styles. This
portfolio served as the record of my various understandings such as dealing with
different problems I encountered during my field practice. It also shows my
strengths as a teacher and acknowledging my weakness for self-improvement.

Reflection of Professional Readings
WEEKLY JOURNALS
WEEK 1
During the first week of my internship it was mixed emotions. Excitement and
nervousness that I felt knowing that this is another challenging journey for me. It is now
the practical application of the knowledge and skills that I gained during my four years
of studying. On my first week, these are the things that I did;
❏ Reviewing and scanning the hand-outs for the subject assigned to me.
❏ Meetings and consultations with my Cooperating Teacher.
❏ Studying the topics for Week 7- Week 11.
❏ Creating a draft for my Detailed Lesson Plan for my first synchronous class.
WEEK 2
I was challenged in my first week, but even more on the second week as I will be
exposing myself to my students frequently. This is the first time that I will see
their faces and I will be talking to them. The following are the things that I did;
❏ Consultation with my Cooperating Teacher regarding the development of my
first Detailed Lesson Plan.
❏ Crafting my Detailed Lesson Plan.
❏ Creating module for week 7-week 9 to uploaded in the google classroom.
❏ Final consultation with my Cooperating Teacher about my Detailed Lesson Plan.
❏ Preparing my final detailed lesson plan.
WEEK 3
After a very tiring week. Here I am again starting a new week with enthusiasm. I am
very close to the crucial part. To execute my lesson plan. To do my first synchronous
class in EL116. The following are the things that I did;
❏ Preparing my powerpoint presentation/ slides.
❏ Preparing myself and all the things that are needed for my synchronous class.
❏ Do and execute my Lesson Plan about topics for week 7-week 9.
❏ Do my first synchronous class.
WEEK 4
After my first synchronous class. I was able to rest and restart. It is not over
yet. This week I will be checking the assignment that I gave them after the
session. And then preparing again for next week;
❏ Checking of assignment and quiz.
❏ Recording the scores in excel.
❏ Creating another module for week 10-week 11
❏ Scanning and reviewing the topics for week 10-week 11.
WEEK 5
`
For week 5, I will be doing another challenging task. This will be another
preparation for my next synchronous class. I know it is difficult and tiring, but with
positive mindset, I will nailed it.
❏ Creating powerpoint presentation/slides for week 10-week 11 topics.
❏ Meeting and consultation with my Cooperating Teacher.
❏ Checking and recording of scores.
❏ Compiling screenshots and recordings of synchronous classes.
WEEK 6
During this week, I am interacting more to my students because of their
approaching assessment 2. I decided to let them have their microteaching as their
assessment because I let them craft their detailed lesson plan using materials for
teaching grammar and vocabulary as assignment As their assessment they will
execute in the class individually. Through this I will be able to draw deep
connection and understanding to my students. Of course, it will help me gain ideas
to further my demonstration in teaching ability in the coming weeks. The following
are the things that I did;
❏ Guiding my students in creating detailed lesson plan.
❏ Creating the schedule for microteaching to cater my 57 students.
❏ Crafting analytic rubrics for my students microteaching and posting it in
google classroom.
❏ Instruct my students to prepare their visual aid-powerpoint
presentation/slides.
WEEK 7
After a week-long interaction with my students for their microteaching. This
week will be the time for them to execute their detailed lesson plan. They will
have their microteaching in the class. There will be ten demo teachers
everyday. In five days I will be observing my students, rate them and give my
comments and suggestions every after each demo teachers. Tiring, but
fulfilling and it helps me also to learn. The following are the things that I did;
❏ Observing ten demo teachers everyday for five days.
❏ Facilitating them as they do their microteaching.
❏ Giving my insights, comments, and suggestions to my students.
❏ Rating them using the analytic rubric that I created.
WEEK 8
After the tiring week, this week will be more tiring and challenging as well. This
time we will prepare detailed lesson plan and visual aids and will execute it in the
class. We will do pre-demonstration in teaching. This time I will be the one again
to do demonstration teaching. We will be working again with our cooperating
teacher. The following are the things that I did;
❏ Preparing and crafting detailed lesson plan.
❏ Preparing my visual aids-powerpoint presentation/slides.
❏ Execute my lesson plan. Do my pre-demonstration in teaching.
❏ Taking notes of reminders, comments, and suggestions from my cooperating
teacher.
WEEK 9
The remaining two weeks of my internship is the challenging, fulfilling, and
exciting part, but of course the saddest part because this will be the remaining
time that we will see each other in virtual class. This week we are preparing
for our final demonstration in teaching which is very vital in our internship. It
requires consistent efforts, patience, and hard labor. The following are the
things that I did;
❏ Preparing my detailed lesson plan.
❏ Meeting and consultation with my cooperating teacher.
❏ Revising and finalizing my detailed lesson plan.
❏ Creating visual aids-powerpoint presentation/slides.
❏ Settle all the necessary things to do and prepare.
WEEK 10
This is the last and final week of my internship. I will now be doing my final
demonstration in teaching in my class to be observed by respective panels who will
rate my performance. This is the most challenging part. Sleepless nights and tiring
preparations. This week I will be doing a task which really had great impact in my
internship journey that is why it requires great efforts, patience, and
determination.The following are the things that I did;
❏ Sending my detailed lesson plan along with final demo rubrics to my
respective panels.
❏ Giving my class pointers and instructions in order to have a smooth flow of
discussion.
❏ Having enough sleep and rest in order to gain enough energy for my
demonstration in teaching.
❏ Doing my final demonstration in teaching in class observed and rated by my
respective panel members.
The remaining days after my final demonstration in teaching was
spent for the requirements for my cooperating teacher. Settle
the grades in excel. Do recorded videos, craft table of
specification for assessment 3, and creating 80 items multiple
questions from module in El 166 from week 1 to week 18.
Teaching Philosophy as a Beginning Teacher
“ I believe that there are five essential elements that
are conducive to learning. (1) The teacher’s role is to
act as a guide. (2) Students must have access to
hands-on activities. (3) Students should be able to
have choices and let their curiosity direct their
learning. (4) Students need the opportunity to
practice skills in a safe environment. (5) Technology
must be incorporated in school.”

(2) Students must have access to hands-on activities. (3) Students should be able to have choices and let their curiosity direct their learning. (4) Students need the opportunity to practice skills in a safe environment. (5) Technology must be incorporated in school.”
