Established in 1984 was Sri Lanka’s FIRST standardized Fish processing
plant approved by the Department of Fisheries for processing fish and
fishery product.

In 1996 launched Sri Lanka’s FIRST exclusive long line fishing vessels and
Tropic Fishery deep - sea fishing company was established.
Tropic pioneered Sri Lanka’s renowned Yellow fin Tuna Industry. Almost
three decades later, Tropic the pioneer still remains the LEADER and is
the Largest Chilled Tuna Loin processor and Exporter from Sri Lanka to
date.
Our name “Tropic” Sri Lanka is internationally synonymous with seafood
products of the highest quality.
10. IQF Product
Individually Quick Frozen Product is
product that is frozen at a temperature
of -40F. In this process High Quality
product is processed and passed
through stringent quality control
measures and frozen individually by a
Tropic engineered IQF process to
extend the shelf life of the product.
11. ULT Product
Ultra Low Temperature Product is
product that is frozen at sea to a
temperature of -76F. This
effectively freezes the timeline of
the product ensuring the freshest
product for your customers with an
extended shelf life.
13. All our raw materials are sourced
from sustainable long line catch and
naturally processed, providing our
customers with responsibly sourced
safe seafood products free from
any additives or chemicals.

Tropic employs highly advanced traceability
techniques, The Tropic Informatics Division
ensures our customers can trace back every
Tropic product from point of sale to origin from
the assigned GS1-128 barcode available on all
products or as requested.
