honor killing is the homicide of a

other members, due to the belief the
victim has brought dishonor upon the
family or community. The killing is
viewed as a way to restore the
reputation and honor of the family

 Dowry-related violence is a serious
problem that affects the lives of women
and girls. Dowry includes gifts, money,
goods or property given from the bride’s
family to the groom or in-laws before,
during or anytime after the marriage.
Dowry is a response to explicit or implicit
demands or expectations of the groom
or his family.

 Harassment covers a wide range
of behaviors of an offensive nature. It is
commonly understood as behavior that
demeans, humiliates or embarrasses a
person, and it is characteristically
identified by its unlikelihood in terms of
social and moral reasonableness.

bid to marry a 10-year-old girl with a 40-
year-old man in in Naparkot area of
Sindh’s Shikarpur district
 The man, identified as Mohammad
Somar, was arrested after nikkah
 Police further added that Mohammad
Somar confessed to paying the girl’s
father Rs250,000 for the wedding.
