Greetings:
I am writing this letter in reference to Ron Piper, the Director of Information Services at Grady Health
System. Having worked with Ron for the past several years in his support of our Emergency
Management program at Grady, I have found Ron to be an excellent ally in the Information Services
upper management. His professionalism, punctuality, good humor and accuracy in preparing reports,
designing our command center’s I.S. needs and as a meeting leader are above reproach.
Ron has been at the ground floor with the planning, preparation and implementation of many
programs that the healthcare organization is developing; plus, his knowledge, external contacts, and
the excellent professional working relationship that he has, is an additional bonus!
Not only does Ron have a great working knowledge of the hardware and software we use, but also the
web-based programs that are heavily used for the activation of our response and recovery in any
incident. We have activated our incident command together in support of the health system in
tornado response, electrical shutdown, full-scale exercises and also our latest network upgrade.
Without Ron there at the helm for Grady, the upgrade would not have been an easy task! Although it
was a time-consuming endeavor, it seemed effortless because of the expert planning and
implementation guidance that came from Ron Piper!
