Manager of Bus Maintenance
Plan and supervise work procedures and methods used by assigned personnel to repair, service, and maintain
Chicago Transit Authority buses. Assign work and assure appropriate training in work procedures and review
completed work for conformance to stipulated programs and procedures. Evaluate and monitor the performance
of staff for compliance with programs, policies, and attainment of goals and objectives. Identify performance
deviations and determine appropriate course of action to correct problem areas. Supervise and coordinate
research, analysis, development, and preparation of the operating fiscal year budget for assigned areas within
the Bus and Garage Maintenance Departments. Assist the senior management team in the development and
administration of the Bus Garage Maintenance Department's programs, policies, goals, and objectives.
Coordinate assigned areas' job picks, work schedules, and transition of work between shifts. Supervise the
activity of the TOPS (Transit Operations Planning System), MMIS, Prima View security camera system, and
PC/laptops used to diagnose transmission, engine, and other bus-related defects. Hire, train, develop, monitor,
and evaluate performance of staff. Review and recommend personnel actions for approval. Recommend new
hires and changes in personnel status such as promotions, transfers, discharges, and salary adjustments, to
senior management.
Cook County Department of Environmental Control, Maywood, Illinois October 2011 – February 2016
Monitoring Equipment Technician
Under direction of the Technical Services Manager, conducted routine field observations of air monitoring
equipment in accordance with regulations of the Environmental Control Ordinance of Cook County, Illinois
Environmental Protection Agency, and the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA).
Reported technical air monitoring data and collected particulate samples respective to the air monitoring site
locations. Collected particulate samples from air monitoring equipment and transported samples to the
environmental control laboratory for particulate and chemical analyses. Performed routine service maintenance
on air monitoring equipment according to USEPA quality assurance requirements and recorded service
maintenance data into the maintenance/performance site logbook. Performed routine service maintenance on
ambient air monitoring equipment according to USEPA quality assurance requirements for SO2, NO2, CO and
O3. Audited all instrumentation as required by the Quality Assurance Project Plan for Illinois. Assisted in the
development of SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures) in accordance with USEPA requirements.

Senior Electronic Instrumentation Technician
Performed, independently, design and build up of complex electronic measurement for control components,
subsystem and minor systems, regardless of installation. Designed and tasked the build-up, of calibration, and
maintenance of complex instrumentation/electronic systems. Calibrated and maintained engine lab
instrumentation/electronics. Reviewed and analyzed measurement procedures, recommended modifications and
improvements where desirable. Ensured that Navistar was in compliance with in-use testing as per the Code of
Federal Regulation. Contacted outside vendors concerning the use and maintenance of
instrumentation/electronics equipment, and made recommendations for purchase of this equipment. Contributed
in the design and application of new instrumentation/electronics. Experience with Horiba and Sensors Inc.
emissions measurement equipment. Assisted in project management of test cell renovation and new product
introduction. Served as union steward for five years leading to the familiarization of contract negotiations and
grievance process within a union work environment.
