Maintenance Mechanic
Performed scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on various types of industrial equipment
including GM vacuum and coating furnaces, gas and electric industrial ovens. Remove, replace and
repair pumps including circulating centrifugal, high pressure, piston and diaphragm types. Remove
and replace motors, bearings and belts. Repair and maintain cooling towers. Install piping systems
using stainless steel, galvanized, black iron, copper and PVC/CPVC pipe for various liquids and
gasses.
Operate and repair high temperature hot water systems including boilers, valves and pumps.
Modify production equipment using oxy/acetylene torches, arc, mig welders and other common
equipment and hand tools. Move and install production equipment using forklifts, transporters and
rollers. Perform minor fabrication of steel tables, benches for various work stations. Waste water
treatment using caustic soda and various acids to neutralize and treat water to acquire a sample for
the lab to grant approval to dump. Order replacement parts for the above equipment as needed and
maintain spare parts inventory. Minimum exposure to electrical diagram and PLC logic. Familiar
working with DVM and current probe. Familiar with lock out/tag out procedures, confined space
permits and hot work permits.
I started working at Chromalloy in 1998 as a Custodian. Through a bid and testing process I have
acquired four promotions: Production Worker, Belt Sand Blend, Lead Production Worker, and
Maintenance Mechanic in 2004.
