2. How did I attract or address my
Audience?
Direct mode of Address
I used direct mode of address on my
Cover and Contents page, however I
chose to break this convention on my
double page spread.
Direct mode of address is the convention
of having the person (or people) being
photographed for a magazine image
looking directly into the camera to attract
the readers attention. This isn’t just used
in magazines, and it is also popular with
advertising, television and film.
I chose to break this convention with my
double page spread, as having the
musician focus on his guitar will draw the
reader’s focus also to his guitar, which
then helps the image stand out more.
