2. Why is it important to be always on time?

3. The Late Student
It was 9:00 in the evening but Gina was
still watching TV. Her mother told her that it
was already time to sleep. But Gina insisted
on finishing her favorite program.

4. Her mother allowed her to finish it, but
she reminded Gina to go to bed right after
watching her favorite program. However,
Gina stayed up to watch some more. She
went to bed at 11:00 P.M.

5. The next day, Gina’s alarm clock went
off at 5:00 A.M. She had trouble getting up.
Her mother tried waking her up several
times. It took a while before Gina got out of
bed. She felt tired and lazy. After taking a

6. bath, she got dressed. Then she went back to
bed and fell asleep. Her mother called her for
breakfast. She was still eating her breakfast
when the school bus arrived. Her mother told
the driver to leave without Gina. She took Gina
to school. Gina arrived late. Their teacher was
already discussing the lesson.

7. Punctuality means that arriving
or acting at the right time or not
being late.

8. It is important to be punctual.
Being punctual means you are using
time wisely.

9. It also means we respect other
people’s time.
We do not distract other people by
our late arrival.

10. By being on time, we are able to
accomplish more things in a day.

11. Punctuality is not about
being on time, it’s basically
about your own
commitments.
