What type of words are these?
Adjectives? Nouns? Adverbs? Verbs?
Action Invention Creation
Now the suffix ‘tion’ has been added, what type of words are
they now?
Adjectives? Nouns? Adverbs? Verbs?
This is the ‘RULE’
If the word ends in t – you add ‘ion’
act > action invent > invention
This is the ‘RULE’
If the word ends in te – you get rid of the ‘e’ and
add ‘ion’
Create > creat > creation

Remember the rule –
If it ends in ‘t’ add – ion
If it ends in ‘te’ – remove the ‘e’ and add ‘ion’
Cut a word out – stick it in your book – add the suffix using the correct rule and then
create a sentence using the word!
