Aida Rivera-Ford was born in Jolo, Sulu.
She became the editor of the first two
issues of Sands and Coral, the literary
magazine of Silliman University. In 1949,
she graduated with an AB degree, major
in English, cum laude. In 1954, she
obtained an MA in English Language and
Literature at the University of Michigan
and won the prestigious Jules and Avery
Hopwood for fiction.
3. Government Parangal for Writers of the
post-war years. In 1991, she was a
Gawad CCP awardee for the essay in
English. In 1993, she was the recipient
of Outstanding Sillimanian Award for her
contributions to literary arts and culture.
In 1993, the UP ICW named her National
Fellow for Fiction. She became the
director of two NCCA Mindanao-wide
Creative Writing Workshops and two UP
National Writers Workshops. As of 1997,
she was the president of the Mindanao
Foundation for Culture and the Arts.
4. She taught at the University of Mindanao
and Ateneo de Davao University where
she was the Humanities Division
Chairperson for 11 years. In 1980, she
founded the first school of Fine Arts in
Mindanao –the Learning Center of the
Arts, now known as the Ford Academy of
the Arts. In 1982, the city of Davao
recognized her contributions to culture
and the arts through Datu Bago Award.
In 1984, she was an awardee in the Phil.

6. Tinang discovers after reading the love
letter from her first love, Amado, that
she is still loved by him. However, by
then, she is already married to a
Bagobo and has a son with him.
7. The plot type of the story is in medias res
because it starts at the middle of the story and
we identified it because there is a scene in the
story that tinang remembered her first love.
The plot device used is flashback, when tinang
remembered her first love, Amado.
8. Tinang visited Senora with her baby and
she wanted to see Senora. They talked
about tinang’s marriage and the baptismal
of tinang’s child and tinang wants senora to
be a ninang of her child.
9. Amado sent a letter and Senora said
it to Tinang and she said that the
letter is in the pharmacy and tinang
pick it up in the pharmacy.
10. Tinang read the letter of Amado and
Amado said why is he leaving and he
said his feelings for Tinang.
11. Tinang remembered the past when
she and Amado are lovers and she
saw a snake nearby and she checked
her baby if it has a bite.
12. Tinang throw the letter in the cornhusks and
went home. Tinang choose her family over
Amado and Tinang forgets Amado.
13. The type of conflict is Man vs man,
the conflict is shown when tinang
read the letter of Amado for her and
she realized that Amado still love her
but she has a husband and she has a
child.
14. The theme of the story is about
pertaining that true love waits
and no matter how long the time
you will wait for the person you
love

about love of aida and her first love
but aida has a husband and child.

in the story aida is working for
Senora and just like other woman in
the story they are working for senora
