1. 3rd Word
on the Cross
of Jesus
Woman, beholdthy son!
Beholdthy mother!
2. John 19: 25-27
25Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother,
and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of
Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene.
26When Jesus therefore saw his mother,
and the disciple standing by, whom he loved,
he saith unto his mother,
Woman, behold thy son!
27Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother!
And from that hour
that disciple took her unto his own home.
3. I. A WORD of LOVE
Even on the cross suffering
dying for the sins of the world,
Jesus is thinking of His loved ones welfare
4. II. A WORD on FAMILY
They offered one another comfort.
They strengthened each other.
FAMILY is where we find comfort and support and encouragement and
love.
Jesus uses wording similar to that used in a wedding.
He is binding them together into a new relationship:
as mother and son.
Even on his last breath , paying the price for man's redemption,
Jesus is thinking of his family.
5. III. A WORD of UNSELFISHNESS
Even to the point of death,
Jesus didn’t think of himself first
6. IV. A WORD TO
TO BE IMITATED
To this you were called,
because Christ suffered for you,
leaving you an example,
that you should follow in his steps.
1 Peter 2:21
7. CHALLENGE:
- Iniisip ba natin ang kapakanan ng iba
o sarili lang natin?
-
- Nakakatulong pa ba tayo sa iba,
kung tayo ay may sariling problema?
8. -
1 John 3:16
Dito natin nakikilala ang tunay na pag-
ibig:
inialay ni Cristo ang kanyang buhay
para sa atin.
Kaya't dapat din nating ialay ang
ating buhay para sa kapatiran.
