2. About Sundar Pichai
• Pichai Sundararajan is a 49 year young techie from Tamil Nadu.
• He was born on June 10, 1972 in Madurai.
• Pichai completed schooling in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya,
a Central Board of Secondary Education school in Ashok
Nagar.
• He earned his degree from IIT Kharagpur in metallurgical
engineering.

3. • He worked in engineering and product management at Applied Materials.
• Pichai joined Google in 2004, where he led the product management.
• He went on to oversee the development of applications such as Gmail and Google Maps.
• On March 13, 2013, Pichai added Android to the list of Google products.
Career

4. • Pichai had already made his mark as a director of product management for
an obscure but important weapon in the company’s Google toolbar.
• Pichai worked hard developing Google’s chrome operative system for laptops which
can store data.

5. • After the launch of Chrome, Sundar was promoted to vice president and
later senior president.
• Later, he managed to excel in being an executive of the world’s biggest company.

6. • In 2014, Pichai was touted as a possible CEO for Microsoft.
• But at last, he was granted with large financial packages to remain with google.
• He was known for negotiating Google’s $3.2 billion deal to acquire Nest Labs in 2014.

relations with the staff and shareholders.
• It is observed in the his strong motivation to ensure financial prosperity of the
headed company.
• Pichai is extremely result-oriented, which led him to the position of the executive
manager of largest company in the world.

8. • Google cofounder Larry Page and Sergey Brin announced the creation of Alphabet
Inc. in August 2015.
• It came as no surprise to industry insiders that Pichai was named as the CEO of
Google.
• In December 2019, he was also named as the CEO of Alphabet replacing Page,
who stepped down.

• His major leadership quality described him as “Do not only see you success,

• Creation of Google Drive, Gmail app and Google Video Codec.
