2. Introduction
•Finishing raw edges of hems are
neatening techniques used to make
finished garments look more
presentable and neatly finished or
professional.

3. Piping
A piping is a type of trim or embellishment consisting
of a strip of folded fabric so as to form a "pipe"
inserted into a seam or hems to define the edges or
style lines of a garment.

4. Binding
A Binding is a technique that uses a bias strip to
encase the raw edges of hems, garments or other
items

5. Casing
A casing is a fabric tunnel that can be left as is
or add elastic to drawstrings depending on
where the casing is located.

6. Factors to bear in mind in choosing finishing
for raw edges.
