The students will produce a 30-45 minute action/thriller short film as their final major project. The film's main plot involves 4 social outcasts who find themselves unable to leave a virtual reality system they are testing due to a fatal error. They are contacted by an engineer who warns them they must complete test missions to wake up, but if they die in VR they will die in real life. The film will include violent scenes and fight sequences inspired by films like Raid 2 and Taken, as well as gun fights and car chases.

Alex –The filmwill be action/thriller,roughlyaround30-45 minutes.
Reece – The filmsmainplotisbasedaroundthe concept of virtual reality,aswell as4 main
characters that are social outcastsand leadboringlives.Throughdifferentinterests, forexample
gaming,moneyandsocial anxietytheyfindthemselvesinthe same roomtotesta new developed
VR system.
Alex –They all enterthe systemcompletelyoblivioustoa fatal errorthat has takenplace,not
knowingthattheyare now unable toleave,astheyexplore the new systemthatiscompletelylife
like theyare contactedbyan outside engineerwhohelpedputtheminthe system.
Reece – He warnsthemabout the error andthat the engineersare unable towake themupwithout
killingthemandalsoone more problem,whichisthatif theydie inthe VR thentheydie inreal life,
makingthe VR more realisticthantheythought.
Alex –With instructionsfromthe contactoutside theyare toldtheyhave tocomplete the test
missionsthatendthe game to wake up,whichwouldn’tbe aproblemif theycouldre-spawn.
Reece – The movie will consistof violent scenesandgraphiccontent.Some of ourfightsceneswill
be inspiredfromthe filmswe have studied,forexample Raid2andTaken.There alsomightbe some
gun fights,some of the ideasthatwe have forthemcome fromExpendablesandcaptainAmerica.
Alex –To followonfromthat,we alsomighthave a car chase scene,andif sothenwe would
probablyeditingtechniquesfromthe filmshere.We alsomightincorporate some explosionsif
needed,sowe alsoresearchedsome recentfilmsthathave goodCGIexplosions.Forexample Dark
knightandwhite house down.
Reece – There mightalsobe an unexpecteddeathscene inwhichwe hada lookat some of the best
deathscenesinfilmsthatwe couldthinkof,alsowe wantto include onfoot chaseswhichwould
evencontainfree running,forexample the scene fromJamesbondcasinoroyal andbrickmansion.
Alex - We dida surveytohelpdecide onwhatstyle of filmwe wanttoproduce and whatour target
audience will be.
