St. Michael's Academy Health Services Guide
1. The Health Services of St. Michael’s Academy of Oas, Inc., is one
of the significant student services of the institution. It is an integral
part of the wholeness of the school program to help produce healthy,
productive Christian and Filipino students. To attain a functional
health program, this standard Operating Guide embraces the four
major phases of the health program.

Health Instruction and
School-home community coordination
For the effectiveness of the health personnel in the performance of
their duties and for the school community to be aware of the benefits
available, this operating guide will be of great help.

3. It is the vision of the Health Services personnel that in the future, their clientele
has internalized their health habits and Christian attitudes for healthful and
peaceful living. To attain this goal, the health service is responsible in protecting,
maintaining and promoting the health of the students and personnel of the school
until it reaches the optimum level of functioning.
Objectives of the Health Services Guide
1. To give direction to the Health personnel in the performance of their duties.
2. To develop a healthy mental and emotional attitude among students and personnel.
3. To have an efficient school health program that will include health services,
healthfulliving, health instruction and school coordination.
4. To enrich the school health personnel spiritually, professionally, morally, and
emotionally, in order to participate fully in the healing ministry of Christ.

5. • In order to achieve the objectives towards the development of a total person, the faces of the
school health program are to be implemented namely:

1. SCHOOL HEALTH SERVICES – an aspect of school health program charged with the responsibility and
protecting, maintaining and promoting the healthof school children and personnel to attain the maximum of
well- being.
2. HEALTH INSTRUCTION - the organization of learning experiences directed are towards the development
of favorable health knowledge, attitudes and practice. This maybe direct or specific, integrated or incidental
health teaching or correlates with other subjects.
3. HEALTH LIVING - an aspect of school health program which pertains tothe provision of healthful
environment, the organization of the healthful school day and the establishment of wholesome international
relationship favorable to physical and mental health.

7. The Office in charge of the Health Services reports to the Coordinator of
Students Services. She supervises the school physician and the school
dentist. She coordinates with the heads of other offices, class advisers and
guidance office. She also coordinates with the City Health Center, DSWD
and parents as the need arises.
The Personnel of the Health Services are continuously updated to effectively carry out
their duties for spiritual, professional and social growth. Under professional growth they
study and work together through OPS-SSD program, seminars, growth day lectures,
sessions. The staff attend seminars and symposia related to their respective fields and to
school health. They pray together for spiritual and moral strength through the Basic
Ecclesial Community (BEC) meeting, retreats, bible sharing and Holy Mass. They play
and socialize together during excursions, outings, games, birthdays, Christmas and other
school celebrations. Lastly, they work together when they prepare the monthly progress
reports and calendar of activities, Annual plan, Annual Budget, Proposal, First Aid
schedule and other clinic activities.

9. The operation of the school clinic will be evaluated by
conducting and assessing Annual Performance report
and Year-end Inventory, and distributing Personnel and
students Evaluation Forms, and consolidating their
feedbacks.

11. The Health Personnel believe that life is a sacred gift from
God, a Holistic Being of this belief; the personnel attend to
their clientele with an open heart without discrimination.
Behavioral indications for the growth in grace are; Mass
attendance, Receiving the Holy Body of Christ, Visit the
Blessed Mary and Sacrament and religiously having a Morning
prayer before the day’s work and thanksgiving.
