means “to add” “to join” “to unite” or “to attach”.
It is originated from Veda, oldest scripture of India
(4000 B.C) and systematically presented by the
Sage Patanjali in Yogasutra around 150 B.C.

to the Indus Saraswati Civilization in northern
India.
