that I grew up in and be a part of this
school building. I personally believe
that group work and partner work are
important in the classroom and I will
be trying to enforce these throughout
the school year. It is important for the
children to have time to play and
interact with their peers. That being
said, I will try my best to give them a
break during the day to allow them to
play and rest before continuing on
with our material.

First Grade News
This year your children will be doing
many different activities. One main
focus that I will have is teaching them
about different cultures. I will do this
by dedicating certain time in our
schedule to read different books about
cultures and diversity that they can
relate to, such as It’s okay to be
different and Where are you from?
Alongside of reading these books we will
have music from different cultures that
will be played to help identify that even
though we are different, we still are the
same.
