To achieve user based customization of enterprise IT Applications a tool is suggested to track existing user behavior from logs and derive meaningful inferences. This tool will help in converting complex parts of enterprise applications into simpler ones.
2. “Ravi has an idea for
InJam event.
He’s meeting his Boss
Nishant seeking his
suggestions on the idea
and his go ahead to
participate in the InJam
event”
3. Over the years we have added a lot of
information to our Enterprise Systems.
They have become hard and elaborate.
I strongly believe, the work done through
these systems needs to b emuch simpler.
Frankly, It’s not about the devices but
about the factor called “time”.
We need to make our customers do their
work in real quick time
Ravi
I Got that.. The quicker the work is done, the more productive the user becomes!
The better the ease of doing business. So what are you suggesting here ? Nishant
4. App
There is a big demand for our Applications to catch up and modernize.
As most enterprise software solutions, ours too are built around the information, and not on the user.
I want to put the users in the center and build the workflow around on what he needs to get done.
A concept / product / service / tool / or whatever you like it to be called
It will help make your App work the way the user wants!
Track the user’s behavior in the Applications, Derive meaningful inferences out of tracked data, Decide
on possibilities to simplify the existing system for the user.
5. Most insurance companies
run on thousands of
backend systems; that are
decades old and are not
designed for mobility or
fast response.
Its time we provide more
personalized & integrated
insurance solutions for
customer-facing agent or
customer.
To succeed in this
competitive market, one
must modernize the end
user experience without
discarding existing Apps
or disrupting the business.
Agents and end customers
should have simplified
systems that require
minimal training and
easier understanding.
Millennials seeking
personalized service and
instant response, are
responding positively to
companies that understand
the need for immediacy.
To compete effectively,
insurance companies must
simplify & mobilize
consumer interactions and
employee workflows.
Hi All.
I have come up with a theme for the presentation.
An age-old theme called storytelling!
Scene:
There lived a Developer called Ravi, reporting to a Manager called Nishant.
Ravi has an idea for Innovation presentation event at his office.
He wants to take his Boss’s Suggestions and Approval before he puts forth his idea before the Judges.
Come, let’s listen to what happened in the rest of the Story.
At Nishant’s Desk…
Nish: Hey Ravi!!! What brings you here?
Ravi: Hi Nishant. I have an innovation idea. Would like you to hear and provide your inputs and suggestions on it.
Nish: Cool…. That’s interesting…. I would love to hear that!
But you know what, I have another meeting that I need to join in 15 minutes.
Ravi: haa… That’s understandable. ‘A Manager and his meetings, is a marriage made in Heaven’
Nish: ha ha.. exactly.. we are forever engaged!!
Ravi: But I think 15 minutes is more than enough for me
Nish: Cool… Then explain the idea right away.
Ravi: Over the years we have added a lot of information to our systems. They have become hard and elaborate.
I strongly believe that the work done through these systems needs to be much simpler!
It’s no more about Applications and Devices but the factor called “TIME”.
At some point in time, we need to.. and we will.. tailor our Apps!
Nish: Okayyy… I got that… the need to, Simplify our systems…
So what is your suggestion, to make the simplification process easier?
Ravi: App Simplify!!!!!
Ravi: You can call this a concept, product, service, tool or whatever you like it.
This will help make our App work the way our user wants!
Like most enterprise Apps ours too are built around information and on the user. I want to put the user in the center and build a workflow around on what he needs to get done.
I want to understand how currently my application is consumed in real time, to simplify it in the way the user wants it.
And how am I going to do that with App Simplify tool,
TRACK, DERIVE & DECIDE.
Nish: Hey wait! Do you think it is a pressing need for us, in the Insurance Industry to simplify our existing Apps?
Ravi: Yes it is!
Most of our systems run in backend and are not designed for mobility or fast response.
To stay competent, we should provide more personalized and Integrated Insurance solutions that requires minimal training and easier understanding.
And think of ‘Millennials’, they seek personalized service and instant response in everything that they do.
So it’s vital for the industry to Simplify and Mobilize consumer interactions and employee workflow.
If not the Industry catches up to the 21st century, someone else will steal our sugar.
Nish: ha.. you have a point. I understand the need for implementation of your idea.
But you know what, am a strong believer of the fact that “The Universe starts with U and I”. How will your idea or concept, which is large in scale, will suit our area and reap benefits for me, you, say our portfolio?
Ravi: Okay.. Imagine this simple workflow.
You have our App logs. For that matter, any of our Apps;
The concept of logging is, within the preferred size limit you can add as many content as needed. The more content you add the quicker the old content gets withered away.
So all the info that we feel, need to be tracked has to be logged in our logs.
i.e. we have to make the logs more standardized.
Once you have done that, you run the tool App Simplify above the logs.
App Simplify is nothing but a set of scripts, that contains logic.
It will organize all the info you have captured in the logs into more structured Data.
It’s your preference to have the organized data anywhere. It can even be a simple excel workbook, depends mainly on your user traffic and the amount of data you intend to collect.
The same App Simplify tool will run over the structured data and provide desired results you wish to see.
It can be charts, graphs, data points anything of your wish.
And these inferences will help you decide on possible ways to simplify your Application.
And the soul of this idea is that... The same tool (might be with minimal changes) can be run over all the Apps that you wish to simplify. Only thing the IT team wants to do is standardize the logs.
And I believe this is very much doable for our Apps.
Ravi: If you do this, the benefits will be like
With very minimal IT spend, i.e. only to improve your logs, you get real time data on how your Application is consumed, that information will aid you in better decision making during simplification and which will exponentially reduce the amount of time spent in App Simplification (You need not wait for req. analysis, then the BRD to be written and then for the IT to complete and then the QA…. and so on). YOU WILL HAVE USAGE BASED CUSTOMIZATION OF YOUR APP IN REAL QUICK TIME.
Nish: I like that Ravi!!! Go ahead and present yourself.
Ravi: Thanks Nishant!
Ravi: To the Jury!
