The document discusses application integration and provides steps for integrating ITSM (IT service management) applications using ONEiO. Application integration involves connecting different business systems like sales, marketing, HR and IT tools. ONEiO offers next generation integration services that allow these departments to collaborate better. The 5 simple steps to integrate ITSM apps using ONEiO include: 1) creating a ONEiO trial account, 2) adding the first application endpoint, 3) adding a second application, 4) setting up rules to connect apps, and 5) scaling up by adding more apps. ONEiO enables a many-to-many approach where apps can communicate across integrations.
2. How to create an
Application
Integration
ecsystem?
Sales, Marketing, HR and IT all have their own
tools which they utilize to carry out a variety
of separate but interconnected tasks. In order
for these departments to be able to work well
together and collaborate on business wide
activities, next generation integration services
need to be provided.
3. What are Application
Integrations?
Application integration in its simplest
form, is sending information from
one system to another.
This can be done manually, copying & pasting
data from one place to another (arguably not
an integration). Or in an automated and
real-time way, so we can get on with our work,
knowing that the applications we are using are
doing the hard work for us.
4. What are the Most Common
Application Integrations?

Of IT teams have DevOps tools integrated

5. What and Who is a
Citizen Integrator?
Citizen integration is used as a term to
describe how teams such as sales or marketing
will adopt integration solutions with the
support of the IT team. A typical citizen
integration will be a software integration
created by an end-user without needing to
rely on tools such as API’s or customizable
code.
6. When Would You Use an
Ad-Hoc Integration?
When you take an ad-hoc approach to
integration you can do away with the long
timelines, project meetings and integration
mile stones and instead, focus on setting these
up quickly and easily, as they are required.
With ad-hoc approaches, any member of any
department can create their own application
integrations cutting down on reliance on IT
resources and creating faster launch times.
7. API Management
Traditionally we would use API’s to connect
tools together, which in many cases requires
some technical knowhow and also experience
using the API’s of the platforms you are trying
to connect. API’s don’t offer anything more
than a ‘channel’ to pass data through and are
like a plug and socket without any logic to
determine how, when and where data moves
to your different applications. This makes
them very limited in their capabilities.
8. CRM Management &
Marketing Tool Integration
The more specialist and innovative sales and
marketing departments become, the more
apps and services they tend to use. But, it
comes with the hidden-cost of managing
complex software-ecosystems. However, in
2020 and beyond, business teams on the
ground can implement and manage their own,
far more effective integrations in order to
make this happen by using Next Generation
iPaaS.
9. Service Management
Tool Integration
Without effective Service Integration, teams
would need to manually pass information
across to each other (by phone or email), then
update the records in their own instances of
software by hand. Modern Service Integration,
provides a real-time and automated set of
processes, which means any change made in
one system, is immediately replicated in the
other system, taking process, policy and
context into account.
10. HR Tool Integration
HR typically want to take more control of their
processes and move faster on opportunities
they see around the business to provide better
internal services and connectivity. Both to
their own software and to gain access to wider
sets of data from around the workforce, they
need to have more control over the
integration process itself.
13. Step 1: Join ONEiO by
creating a free trial account
at https://oneio.cloud
This is a quick and easy process. It requires no
credit card or long-term commitment. You will
have 14 days to put as many integrations to
the test as you like. You’ll also have full access
to our support team, just in case you need a
few pointers along the way.
14. Step 2: Add your first
application endpoint
Whether you’re using ServiceNow, JIRA,
ZenDesk, or BMC Remedy (or any other
service management software) the process is
the same. Just ‘Add a new endpoint’ in your
ONEiO dashboard. Then follow the steps to
setup the credentials and configuration
needed for that platform. It should only take a
few minutes to do.
15. Step 3: Add your
second application
endpoint
Whatever application you want to add next,
you just follow the same steps as above. Select
‘Add a new endpoint’ and repeat the process.
Some applications have different
requirements. For Example, ServiceNow will
require a new REST message setup, and JIRA
requires an API token.
16. Step 4. Setup your
rules… (or not…)
The difference between a simple API
connection and a genuine integration is logic.
Messages, data and insights from each
application need rules to follow in order to
become useful in other applications. So, head
over to ‘Rules’ from the ONEiO Dashboard -
and yes you can set these up yourself - or, you
can use our Rule Robot, which can
automatically create all the essential rules you
need to get started with most common
application integrations.
17. Step 5. Scale-up
Why stop there? ONEiO allows you to
leverage a ‘Many-to-Many’ approach to
integration. This means that no application or
integration is limited to just communicating in
one single direction. Traditional integration
platforms tend to require new API and
connections setup for every data exchange
you want to make. ONEiO is different. It
allows you to add as many applications as you
like, and they will begin communicating with
every other connected application right away!
