Class Pisces Class Insecta Class Vermes ได้แก่ ปลา ได้แก่ แมลง ได้แก่ สัตว์ไม่มีกระดูกสันหลังอื่น ๆ ซอร์ช กูวีเย (ค.ศ. 1769-1832) นักวิทยาศาสตร์ชาวฝรั่งเศสได้นำวิธีการจำแนกประเภทสิ่งมี ชีวิตตามระบบธรรมชาติ มาใช้ในการจําแนกสัตว์เป็นคนแรก
