1. CLINICAL TEACHING METHODS:-
Introduction:-
Nurses need learning in three domains i.e cognitive, affective and psychomotor. However,
psychomotor domains of learning is most essential in nursing discipline because nurses need
to have hands- on skills to provide best quality nursing care to their patients or clients.
Therefore, it is essential for nurse educators to provide clinical teaching through most robust
and advanced methods, so that nursing students can swiftly learn the real – life clinical
knowledge and clinical skills
Definition:-
According to Schweer (1972):-
‘Clinical teaching is a vehicle that provides students with the opportunity to translate basic
theoretical knowledge into the learning of a variety of intellectual and psychomotor skills
needed to provide patient centered quality nursing care.

2. Nursing case study:-
Nursing case study is in depth study and analysis of progress of a patient with specific
disease, who receive nursing care for an extended period between 7 and 10 days.
Nursing case presentation :-
It refers to a formal discussion of a particular patient in details regarding medical diagnosis,
clinical features, diagnosis tests, medical and surgical treatment, nursing assessment finding,
identified nursing problem and best possible planned nursing care interventions considering
best recommended practices.
Nursing rounds :-
It is a clinical teaching method in which a group of nursing students are taken for a selected
patients bedside visit by one or more nursing faculties to discuss about the progress of the
patient and further plan of care, which provides the students first hand clinical experiences.
Bed side clinic:-
‘A bedside clinic is a process in which a clinical teacher and a group of learner sees a patient,
elicits or verifies physical sign, discusses provisional diagnosis in clinical setting.’

Process recording:- It is recording of the conversion during the interaction or the interview
between nurse and the patient in the clinical setting with the nurse inference.
