3. Bluetooth based home automation
► In the past Bluetooth modules were used in home
automation, their frequency range was 2.4 GHz and they used
FHSS modulation.
► Their range was 10m only and consumed medium power.
► They were highly susceptible to interference and
jamming. Especially in regions where there is high population
density.
► Less reliable and less secure.
4. ZigBee based home automation
► It is a wireless protocol that also operates in the 2.4GHz
band, like WiFi and Bluetooth, but it operates at much lower
data rates.
► Zigbee consumes very low power than WiFi and Bluetooth.
And it can bee implemented with any type of microcontroller.
► Excellent performance in environments with low signal-to-
noise ratio.
► It is highly reliable and cost effective. It can support up to
64k nodes/devices.

conditions were monitored by a person and controlling of the
devices are done by manual operations. As technology is being
advanced now the people has gone through with remote
automation systems for appliances
In this project the main purpose is to provide a single control
point which provides access to all building services with low cost
reduction factors. A remote monitoring allows the quick
detection of failing devices without needing long searches and
wasting personal time. The system uses a compact circuitry built
around LPC2148 (ARM7) microcontroller Programs are
developed in Embedded C. Flash magic is used for loading
programs into Microcontroller.
