Soveja village is located in Vrancea county near the foothills of Vrancea mountains. It is known as a resort area but still practices agrotourism. The village contains several historical and architectural landmarks of national importance including the Soveja monastery from 1654 and a mausoleum for World War I heroes from 1929. Archaeological sites near the village also contain traces of Neolithic and Bronze Age settlements.
