4. INTRODUCTION
There is an increasing demand for smart homes,
where appliances react automatically to changing
environmental conditions and can be easily
controlled through one common device.
This project presents a possible solution whereby
the user controls devices by using their existing
mobile phone ,where control is communicated to
the Microcontroller from a mobile phone through
its Bluetooth interface.
5. What is Home Automation
Home automation involves introducing a degree of
computerized or automatic control to certain electrical and
electronics system in a building.
These lighting, temperature control, etc.., this paper
demonstrate a simple home automation system which contains
a remote mobile host controller and several client module
(home appliances).
The client modules communicate with host controllers
through a wireless device such as a Bluetooth enabled mobile
phone, in this case, an android based smart phone.
9. Components Used
Arduino Uno is a microcontroller board based on the ATmega328P (datasheet). It has 14
digital input/output pins (of which 6 can be used as PWM outputs), 6 analog inputs, a 16 MHz
quartz crystal, a USB connection, a power jack, an ICSP header and a reset button. It contains
everything needed to support the microcontroller; simply connect it to a computer with a USB
cable or power it with a AC-to-DC adapter or battery to get started.. You can tinker with your
UNO without worring too much about doing something wrong, worst case scenario you can
replace the chip for a few dollars and start over again

11. Relay
A relay is an electrically
operated switch.
Relays are used where it
is necessary to control a
circuit by a low-power
signal.
Relays protect electrical
circuits from overload or
faults.
17. Working Procedure
We used mainly Arduino and Bluetooth module as the fundamental
components. Besides, we used some relay and registers and some
rectifiers in the output portions. And for the visual output, we put the
motor as a fan and lamp and LED light in the output end.
Here's the command is given from the smartphone we have. It passes
through the Bluetooth module into Arduino. We use the BT_Display
app for passing the order like the fan on, light on into the Bluetooth
module.
For the coding, we used the IDE app for debugging it into a hex file.
18. Advantages
The main advantage of “Home Automation
through Android Mobile” is that the “Physically
Challenged and Disabled People” .
Replace television, air conditioner etc., remotes for
sleep mode.
Smart Home
19. Applications
Home automation – This project can be used
to control various Home Appliances
We can control device from a long distance,
thus it gives ease of access.
Faster operation and efficient.
No need to carry separate remote or any other
controlling unit.
20. Problem we have faced
At first Bluetooth's port was not automatically added to
many computers, but had to be manually added com port
then our Proteus software cracked so our command all
on, all off are not working exactly, it takes a little time to
work and the night lamp is working but after turning on it
giving a error message.
21. Conclusion
Home Automation is undeniably a resource
which can make a home environment automated.
People can control their electrical devices via
these Home Automation devices and set up
controlling actions through Mobile
In future this product may have high potential for
marketing.
