3. In the Name of Jesus
1. First Exercise
▪ Say a short prayer asking God to help you grow in gratitude today.
▪ Now say another short prayer asking the same thing, only this time start with “In the name
of Jesus.”
▪ When you ask in Jesus name go slow
▪ Allow yourself to sense the will of Jesus for you right now
▪ Repeat “In the name of Jesus several times before you add another other content to your prayer.
4. God’s will for your life
Rejoice always;
pray without ceasing;
in everything give thanks;
for this is God's will for you in
Christ Jesus.

1. List 5 things you can be glad about
▪ Write them down
▪ Put a 1-5 next to them to rank their ability to
bring joy into your life
▪ Thank God for each one
2. List 5 things in your life you do not like
▪ Write them down
▪ Put a 1-5 next to the to rank their ability to
discourage you.
▪ Take a moment and tell the Lord that in each of
these negative situations you desire to still be
able to give Him thanks.
