INSURANCE ON INTERNET
Objective:
Objective is to automate all possible functionalities of the insurance sector by helping all
stakeholders to use this web-based system.
Existing System:
• The existing system is a manual system. Here the users need to save his information in
the form of excel sheets
• There is no sharing possible if the data is in the form of paper or Disk drives.
• The manual system gives us very less security for saving data; some data may be lost due
to mismanagement.
• Searching of particular information is very critical where it takes lot of time.
• In the manual system the members contribution cannot expose as a reliable one.
• All the work proofs, progressive reports maintaining is a tough job.
• Tracking user activities and progress is not possible.
• Explain the policies and their conditions through manually.
• For calculating the insurance premiums agents are used calculator and other manual
devices this causes lot of mistakes.

The development of this new system contains the following activities, which try to automate the
entire process keeping in the view of database integration approach by system Rich User
Interface.
• The user information files can be stored in centralized database which can be maintained
by the system.
• Authentication is provided for this application only registered members can access.
• Members can share is data to others, and also he can get data from others.
• There is no risk of data management at any level while the project development is under
process.
• The system provides web registration and profile management all policy holders.
• Insurance premium calculations, for quarterly, half yearly and annually is completely
automated gives us a reliable environment.
• The system provides claim reporting and status enquiry.
• Providing online help to customers and training modules to agents and customer
grievance handling mechanism.

Administrator:
Administrator is a super user treated as owner of this site. He can have all the privileges.
Administrator can register customers, agents directly, and delete the information of a registered
agent.
Basic and advanced admin facilities like add, update, agent’s information, backup,
recovery of data, and generating various kinds of reports.
Administrator can add new policies, information, notices and their work structure into the
system. If a new policy is added into the system, the information of that policy and catalog,
search facility for available policies exportable in XLS format to customer as well as agents.
Admin can provide on line help to the customers and process their queries and send status
to the customers. He can provide agents information of customer native region. He can conduct
training modules to the agents.

A policy holder is called as customer to this system. He can log into this system in 24 X
7 modes. He needs to pay insurance premium throw online. A customer claims a report and
check the status also.
Agents:
Insurance Premium is the payment made by the policy holder to the insurance company on a
regular time span. This payment has to be made by the insured person till the maturity of the
insurance. Insurance Premium may vary from company to company along with the coverage
limit. Thus, while selecting an insurance policy one should be very careful and should compare
all the possible options through this system.
The administrator or agents calculate the premiums on the basis of the requirement
particulars of the customer. The lowest quote offered by the insurance company is considered to
be the most suitable one for the customer.
Web Registration:
The system has a process of registration. Every customer need to submit his complete
details in the form of registration. Whenever a user registration completed automatically user
can get a user id and password. By using that user id and password member can log into the
system. If registration process is completed successfully an email remainder is generated and
sends to the customer.
Search:
Different kind of search available to customer as well as administrator. Information catalog and
search facility for all available policies and exportable in XLS formats. Catalog and contact
information about agents of your regions. Agents can set alert mails for the premium dues or
news or important notices.

Agent information can be displayed to the customers to their own regions by the web
administrators.

In this Module the User and Administrator can generate the different types of Reports according
to their access.
