Being a college student is not all about gaining from each endeavor encountered. There are gains and loses simultaneously. As a student develops in his
or her academic career, the student eventually learns that priorities have to be put in place. Being a well–rounded individual can be very difficult as a
STEM student. For this reason, my personal academic goal is to be a well–rounded student and individual. A well–rounded student can be defined as a
student with a minimum of 3.7 GPA with a role in at least one extracurricular activity. To achieve my goal in becoming a well

I volunteered as a mentor to Fulton Junior High students, whom are considered to be at–risk children, during the Spring semester of the 2016 school
year through the STEM Mentoring Program. Being a mentor is a leadership position because I guided students in activities. I have held other

While serving as a mentor, all children have certain needs that must be met if they growing and learning at their best. However, I will provide those
needs. Basic needs that will be provided: a great learning environment, love and nurture, and discipline when needed. Great learning environments
help children enhance their skills and ensure they are ready for the next educational phase. In addition, love and nurture is important. Every child
wants to feel loved. My goal is to provide my students with love and care because I know this this will help them become strong, independent
individuals as they progress throughout life. Discipline does not always mean paddling a child. I hope I am able to give a prep talk, a walk down the

A long term educational goal for me was going back to school after 4 years and a second child. I kept putting it off for months and months .I was
extremely intimidated due to the fact that I had two kids to support and; I would only be able to work part time. Finally I had to drive to
greenwood to see the dermatologist and I said that would be the day I go to Kaplan. To make sure I reached my goal I started by cutting down my
