This document provides details on the development of a music magazine focused on alternative/R&B music. It will target people ages 16-25 interested in alternative music. The author selected a font style for the masthead that fits the alternative theme and is different and original. Captions on the front cover will be in a clear, simple font that ties to the masthead and implies a winter theme. The front cover will feature an image of an artist in winter clothing along with teasers of what's inside.
2. Proposal
My music magazine’s theme is going to be about RnB/Alternative music. I would like to
add contents such as interviews with the alternative music artists themselves so that the
magazine genre is clearly promoted. Alternative music is sometimes unusual and different
and I would like to show its success through my magazine task. The magazine will be an
autumn/winter issue.
My magazine is going to be targeted to young people between the ages of 16-25. This
includes people who are interested in alternative music and enjoy its unusual and different
music. The magazine is not going to be targeted to a specific gender; it will be suitable for
both genders.
3. MASTHEADS
I first thought about what my
masthead would be. I had to have a
particular name to suit the Alternative
music theme of my music magazine. I
looked at various styles on the website
defont.com to see what font would
suit my masthead best. I found 3
different styles from the website and
asked a couple of people in my class
about which style is most affective and
professional for the front cover of my
magazine. The majority of the people I
had asked chose the 3rd design on the
left as it ties in well with the
alternative theme. Its different and
original like Alternative music.
4. Caption font styles
I chose this font for
the captions on my
front cover page as it
is clear, simple and
ties in well with the
masthead and issue of
the magazine. It also
has some essence of a
winter/ Christmas
theme.
5. Front Cover
