2. The first magazine I
Music magazine 1 will be analysing is
called grime.

3. Mast Head
 The masthead says ‘Grime’ which is used to introduce the
magazine and what it is about. From the masthead I can
tell that this magazine is going to be about ‘English rap’.
 The title is written in a simple font and is also in a yellow
colour to catch the publics eye and help it stand out from
the rest of the text on the page. It also may be written in
yellow because the background is black and yellow is one
of the only colours that can be written on black and still
be readable.

4. Main image
 The main image in this magazine is of a
fairly young looking man. He is slightly
faced side ways and screw facing directly
at the camera with his middle finger up
this shows that he has a lot of anger
inside him but to who or what can not be
identified.
 The clothes he is wearing is all black
excluding his scarf which has different
shades of grey on it. To help him stand
out on the front cover a white glowing
highlight has been used this does not
only help him stand out but it also helps
the reader identify the difference
between the clothes he is wearing and
the background as they are both black.
 The type of camera shot used in this
magazine is close up as it shows his torso
up to his head.

5. Cover lines
 The cover lines on this magazine
in a variety of fonts and colours
this may have been used to gain
the readers attention on one
particular cover line over the rest.
The different colours and fonts
also help to make the magazine
more eye catching and
interesting.

6. Price label and bar code
 The price is placed above the
bar code this shows people
that if they wanted to buy this
particular magazine it would
cost them £2.99.
 The bar code is clearly shown
at the bottom corner of the
page.

8. Mast head
 The mast head on this music magazine is
called ‘Favour’ the word flavour is
normally related to how something will
taste, because this is music magazine
the main header may related to the taste
of music in London's ‘grime’.
 The title is written in a very plane but
bold text that is stretched across the top
of the page. To help catch the readers
eye and so it clear and readable.

9. Cover lines
 The cover lines are
written in the same
font but are all in
different sizes and
colours this helps
each story line be
individual and stand
out from each other.

10. Main image
 The main image is a medium close up as it
only shows his shoulders and above. The
main image is also of a well known
English rapper called scorcher the reason
that his photo may have been used for
this magazine is because he is well known
all over England so it will persuade people
to buy the magazine because they have
either heard of him or know him which
will help gain further interest.
 The other reason this photograph could
have been used it because Scorcher may
be the main focuses within the magazine.
