Dear Sir/Madam
RE: Peter Medcalf
This letter serves to confirm that Peter Medcalf was employed by eBay UK Limited from 13th
December 2010 to 30th
September 2012.
Pete joined eBay UK Ltd as Head of Channel Partners and led the delivery of technical ecommerce
integrations to enable large merchants (brands and retailers) to trade on the eBay platform. Pete
brought a wealth of industry experience and expertise to our business and was well regarded by
colleagues and leadership alike through demonstrating a strong command of ecommerce technology
and a solid understanding of the general ecommerce landscape particularly within UK and across
continental Europe.
Whilst in this role he set up a business critical initiative to rethink the way we leveraged and
managed our technical third party partners, ultimately transforming a successful team of technical
experts into a much needed pre-sales muscle. The partner program allowed eBay Marketplaces to
add greater commercial value through solution design consulting and in parallel embedded greater
organisational / operational flexibility to better meet the demands of our European B2B sales funnel.
Following the successful implementation of the program Pete’s role changed to focus on the
development of our ecommerce services and tools at an eBay Inc level including the
commercialisation of the Magento value proposition (an eBay Inc acquisition) and the development
of a 3 year B2B tools strategy and roadmap.
Pete built a good rapport with his team, eBay leadership and merchants alike. He was a well-
respected senior manager in the eBay business and played an important role in helping eBay
successfully deliver against aggressive sales targets and its strategic growth ambitions. We are
therefore sorry to see Pete leave eBay but wish him every success in his future career.
Please do not hesitate to contact this office should you require further information.
Yours
MyHR, eBay UK Ltd
