To whom it may concern,
Sportsworld are a specialist sports marketing agency whose signature event is the Olympic Games, but also
deliver marketing projects at other key global sporting events such as the FIFA World Cup, Commonwealth
Games and Rugby World Cup events.
As the General Manager / Director of Operations, I am responsible for oversight of all aspects of our business
operation and worked closely with Pedro from March through to September 2016 in his role as our LATAM Rio
2016 Project Manager. Over this period I found Pedro to be an extremely confident and articulate
communicator both verbally and in written format with a strong ability to express complex concepts clearly.
Pedro’s capacity to develop sound business cases and briefing papers for the Sportsworld Executive team, our
client and our key project vendors is outstanding. His thorough understanding of our business, excellent
relationship building ability and organised detailed approach contributed to Sportsworld’s success in providing
exceptional service to LATAM – which was a large and complex project.
With an extremely logical thought process combined with strong analytical skills and impressive problem solving
capability, Pedro’s work is consistently thorough and beyond reproach.
Demonstrating a strong ability to multi-task and understand the nuances of each program component, Pedro
also keep sight of the overall project goals and milestones – managing the allocation (or redeployment) of
project resources to ensure all agreed and contracted client deliverables were not only met, but where possible
exceeded. He was also extremely competent in managing the project budgets with strong excel skills resulting in
maintaining Sportsworld’s profitability while still ensuring the client receives ‘value for spend’.
Pedro is particularly effective in planning and organising work flows and his flexible approach to change
management in a constantly shifting, high-pressure and fast-paced environment resulted in Sportsworld’s
successful project delivery and in many cases, generated cost savings.
In addition he is a very talented ‘trainer’ who develops not only the session content, but also all of the reference
and policy materials needed to support the new system users.
Pedro is self-motivated and outcome orientated. He approaches his work in a calm, professional and diligent
manner using his initiative and broad range of skills to help Sportsworld achieve our business goals.
Pedro also demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills – whether managing and directing the resources within
his team; liaising with Sportsworld Management and internal departments; cultivating relationships at all levels
within our client’s organisation; or developing and/or maintaining relationships with the key external vendors.
Given we operate in countries around the globe with multi-cultural teams – it is essential that our key personnel
reflect not only respect and tolerance, but a proactive celebration of cultural diversity. Pedro has been
extremely successful at earning the trust and respect of our local colleagues.
Pedro offers a wealth of skills and has a genuinely lovely personal manner. He will add value to any organisation
