Personality Theory Research Paper
Over the last 100 years, the underpinning concepts in the fields of psychology and counseling were wrought. Within this period, these concepts have
transformed and evolved from somewhat crude conceptions of the psyche toward more holistic interventions and approaches. As the profession
continues to move forward, adaptations of the original theorists regarding the nature of man and the development of personality continue to emerge.
These adaptations, along with the integration of new concepts and ideas, continue to contribute to the field. The author describes his view of man and
human nature, personality development, and explores potential implications for counseling.

It does, however, imply that at the center of all of us is a genetic code of animalistic survival. Regardless of how civilized we become, what moral
guidelines we breed, or how giving we are to the less fortunate, we all at the core will do what is necessary to survive. This includes actions that would
be considered antisocial, if not actions directly against others.
Personality Theory
Freud proposed the psychological structure of personality to include three systems called the id, the ego, and the superego. At birth, the id is the
original system of personality and is ruled by the pleasure principle. It is driven towards satisfying instinctual needs. The ego can be described as a
mediator between ones instincts and their surrounding environment. The ego is ruled by the reality principle, using realistic and logical thinking to
formulate action plans for satisfying needs. The superego includes a person's moral code and strives for perfection, not pleasure. Psychic energy is
distributed between these three systems creating dynamics of personality. This psychic energy is what determines behavior (Day, 2008).
Modern man has other obligations to fulfill other than his own, as society also makes demands of each of us. This causes the person to attempt to
further suppress the id from public view. Most

An Individual 's Personality Change Essay
Over the years, there has been a debate over whether or not personality can be changed. Growing older, experiencing life, and seeking personality
change are all factors that play a part in this change. Throughout an individual's life, they are constantly strengthening and weakening certain traits,
whether they want to or not. In the contents of this paper, personality change is discussed, showing that it is possible for an individual to change their
personality. Can an Individual's Personality Change? Sometimes it seems unfair that individual's are assigned certain personality traits without the want
of those traits. An individual might want to be an introvert wanting to be an extrovert, a procrastinator wanting to be productive, or any other
personality trait that they want to trade for another. Is it possible to change an individual's personality or are they stuck with the same personality their
whole life? An individual's personality can change because of aging, major life events, and simply the desire to change one's personality. Aging Most
of the time, a person can change their personality unintentionally through simply growing older. Through aging, some traits will strengthen and some
traits will weaken. For instance, when starting to work at a new job, an individual will have to learn to develop new skills, which can change their
personality. According to the Big–Five theory, personality is described by openness, conscientiousness, extroversion, agreeableness, and

Changes in Life Essay
In my life, I have been exposed to a challenge called change. Change can occur in many different ways and is dealt with in many different ways. I
have come to the awareness that change can be the deepest of all things. I always thought that change occurred when you moved to a state or when
you lost someone real close to you. Those are a challenge to change, yes, but change doesn't have to occur over a climactic incident. It can just appear
overnight when your brain winds up when it's time to do something different. Even with friends that you used to have and know that move on. For
example, most of my friends from elementary school, I don't even talk to them anymore. For obvious reasons, people will turn down the changes in life.

It's depressing how this works, but it's probably the most reason why people change. It's much like peer pressure which usually ends up in the wrong
direction. For example, I was almost peer pressured to consume alcohol and to do smoking. Fortunately, for me, I escaped that change and didn't
experience it. The people we adore love us so much that they want us to remain the way we are forever. Like how my mother always wanted me to
stay the same little child, but I grew up. Not all people can stay the same for a long time. If the people we love and adore would just accept the
change and go with it, they would understand where the change was coming from. It can be shaky to try to stop change and fight against it,
especially if the person wants to change a lot. When I was ready for high school, I was expected to change almost everything in my life. The reason
that somebody wants to change is usually not their choice, but a feeling that the person feels inside their head. Maybe the change isn't the best change,
but if you dig deeper, the person that you adore isn't really changing. They are just trying to find themselves and the one thing they need the most is the
support of the people who they care about the most. When I was attending college, I was expecting a lot of changing to take place. With the support
of my family and friends, it was no big deal for me.
When the people they care about the most, detach their change as

My Personal Change Reflection
Micheal jackson said it best when he sang about 'changing the man in the mirror'. During these past twenty days I have participated in a personal
change challenge. What my fellow classmates and I were instructed to do was to add, delete or change something about our lives for twenty days and
record our findings in a personal journal. I decided that the change I needed in my life was motivation and positivity. So each morning of the challenge,
I started out with a motivational video. These videos was suppose to make me happier, more productive and boost my mental health. However , here
are the results I recorded throughout this twenty day challenge. While I cannot remember who the speaker was, I do remember that I was more offended
than motivated. The video questioned my reasoning for existing and asked what my purpose was in this world. Had I even began to leave my
mark on this Earth? I quickly started questioning everything I have ever done. However, after discussing the video the topic with a few, well know
teachers, I slowly found the motivation in the video and began to be excited about the next nineteen days still yet to come. This excitement however,
was short lived. Half way through the challenge , I was ready to give up. As first the videos were motivational and i was increasing being more
productive throughout my day but as the days wore on the videos seemed to only be repeating each other, one after another, each speaker saying the

The Change-Personal Narrative Essay
The Change–Personal Narrative
The New Year filled me with the desire to pursue new adventures. Like most people, I became consumed in the January resolution ritual of making
promises of changing my life, but retreating from them as March approaches. But I decided to carry through with my commitments this year. Three
of my closest friends and I decided to challenge ourselves after days of relaxation in the safety and shelter of civilization and to return to the isolation
of the wilderness. Despite the nobility of our quest we were forced to bring along miniature symbols of the world we were leaving for basic survival
such as a propane stove, expensive sleeping bags, and two light weight tents. A eighteen mile overnight adventure...show more content...
After a brief navigational error from a missed turn, the starting point of our journey came upon us. The sun had just climbed over the first huge hill
and its brilliant rays shone upon us as we set off on our journey. Nearby, a river flowed with ice chunks, its banks heavily swollen withsnow. The day
seemed to have cleared up for us. God had swept away the clouds and light snow showers and delivered an unexpectedly mild climate. We began our
journey to the top of the first revine of earth with tremendous excitement and eagerness–– unbeknown to us the difficulties that would beset our tired
and out of shape bodies. Off the beaten trail we encountered one of the most spectacular scenes of nature I've ever seen. A lake in the distance was
a mere pond, houses were small pellets of wood, and the nearest city was dwarfed in comparison to the vast acres of woods. Alone, atop a snowy
almost like mountain, we each stood on the edge and absorbed the awesome sight before us. I had evolved from the same primordial soup as the
landscape I saw before me, but now I felt like a stranger just passing through an exotic terrain. Continuing over peaks and valleys for hours we
continued on, hopeful of reaching the midway point before the dangers of dusk covered us in a thick blanket of darkness.
The trail soon

Personal Narrative: Change
The saying goes "Change is what makes the world go round". Well, my world would move much smoother if I got rid of a few things. Table
condiments, meatloaf and roller chairs have got to go! My world would be a better place if these items didn't exist! I don't like table condiments
because I can't stand when people waste them. There are kids around the world that are starving and some people have the nerve to dump an entire
bottle of ketchup on their plate and then throw it away. I don't even like BBQ sauce, but if someone doesn't use all of it on his or her plate it drives
me crazy! It drives me crazy enough to where I use the condiments off others plates. I can get over eating after their double dipping, but unused, wasted

Personal Change: Course Analysis
Since beginning this course, I have really been focusing on the word change. Taking a closer look at myself, I discovered that change was needed.
When it came to personal change, when I was willing to understand that change was needed I began to evaluate what direction I wanted to go in my
life. Then I began to figure out the things in my life that I might have to change then I slowly stepped away from them. To maintain the change that I
had for my life I constantly reminded myself, "Angel you're trying to make yourself a better person for yourself and the people around you".
Reminding myself of that often kept me on the right path in my life. Professional change is something that I constantly try to work on. Being in the
military, that changes

My personality has significantly changed over time from the time I was a teenager till now that I'm an adult. Age has significantly contributed to
how I view things, how I react to issues, and how I interact with other people. Some of the factors that have contributed to changes in my
personality include entering into committed relationships and advancement in my careers. I have developed increase in positive traits like
conscientiousness and a decrease in traits that are considered negative, such as neuroticism. Compared to the time I was a teenager, I have
significantly become more responsible, more agreeable, and more emotionally stable. I remember I used to fight a lot when I was a teenager but
as I grow into adulthood, I have learnt how to handle issues and control myself as well. In essence, my personality has significantly improved.
When I was a teenager, I used to be irresponsible, unsociable, and shy. However, I have since become friendly, responsible, and outgoing. This has
made me live a happier life compared to the life I was living before. Living a happy life has improved my personality in the sense that it has made me
become more conscientious, more emotionally stable, and more agreeable. My pattern of feeling, thinking, and behaving has since become consistent
over time and in different situations. I have also improved on how I interact with people from different backgrounds and origins as well as individuals
with different personalities. I

1.Pick one thing from each chapter you are assigned to read this week. Tell (1) how it relates to you personally and (2) how you can use what you
have learned in a medical office.
Change is discussed in Chapter 11 of Human Relationships. Change is something everyone goes through but often causes a great deal of stress. I
know this is especially true in my life. Even when people have notice of the change it can still cause a great deal of stress. For example, when
school first started I was extremely overwhelmed. I had months to prepare for school though. On the bright side, there's some things I can do to
make change easier. Being able to recognize that change is something I can't control and as something that is going to happen is the first step.
Recognizing the Seven Stages of Personal Change are essential to smooth transition process. I can recognize the anger and helplessness I feel over
change are all too common. Recognizing the feelings and emotions that come with change will allow me to move through the seven stages easier. This
is very important in a medical office because change is always happening, Employee changes in the office, company changes, medical changes, and
law changes among others. Recognizing change needs to happen and knowing how to deal with it is vital in a medical office. When a manager can
adapt to change they can adapt to anything.
Core Communications taught me I really need to work on how I respond to people, and be more aware of how people are

Personal Reflections on Change
Personal reflections on change 'People don't change.' How often is this clichГѓ© repeated to someone who has recently broken up with a boyfriend or
girlfriend? The spurned partner comforts him or herself with the wisdom: 'I tried to change him or her but I could not." All too often I have found
myself holding a good friend's hand after a breakup, as they say: "People don't change." However I would respectfully disagree with this contention
(although I never say it to a friend's face). People do change but they do not always change in the ways we want them to change. All of the pleading,
cajoling, and yelling in the world will not result in someone changing and becoming an ideal, faithful and loving partner. The change that occurs must
be desired from within or, if imposed upon from without, will not necessarily result in the desired type of change. The need for truly self–willed and
self–desired change is also seen in the example of someone who is battling and addiction to drugs, alcohol, or some other self–destructive behavior
pattern like an eating disorder. These psychological disorders are some of the most difficult for clinicians to treat, and while there is a biological
basis for this fact, another reason for their intractability is the ambivalence sufferers feel about giving up their lifestyle as an addict as well as their
habit. The parents, loved ones, and children of the addict may desire change; the addict does not necessarily feel the same way. The

Personal Behavior Change
Everyone has different challenge in his/her life ,and he/she may have different view on the same thing. Therefore, people will have different
goals which they are eager to achieve. Based on what my life looks like and what I need in my life, my behavior change is to exercise at least one
hour every day. The reasons why I choose this goal are because I want to spend some time relaxing from my daily life, and get the balance between
education and occupation. Moreover, I expect to burn the fat in my body because I spend very little time for workout since I got a job. When I
planned to accomplish this behavior change, I knew that challenges or difficulties would appear, I could not avoid them and I could not finish it
easily. But I am the kind of person who likes challenge and I am not afraid of it. Therefore, I chose this behavior change. During the process of this
behavior change, I met a lot of difficulties and I learn how to get balance well in my life. The first and the biggest difficulty is time because the time
availability is limit for me. Because I have two summer classes and I need to work five days weekly, time is huge challenge for me during the
process. My schedule looks like going school on the morning and working at the evening. Therefore, the only...show more content...

full of challenges for me. But I would reduce the time for working or others so that everything can get balance if I continue to keep working on this
behavior change. I will try my best to continue this behavior change because it will make my body strong and

Personal Change Essay
For every change within a society, personal changes with "self" must happen. These social changes are important to people while, people who don't
benefit from it think changes within the self isn't important for social changes. Personal change is a journey a person takes of discovering something
within themselves and acting upon a social change. That social change is society evolving to better ways. Jane Goodall talks about her experience in
a moment of truth with self being absent in a moment of need in her writing titled In the Forest of Gombe, where she spends a few weeks in the forest
following chimpanzees has helped her cope with her grief of her husband. She comes to the realization that her "self" was nonexistent and everyone in

This crisis had changed her "self" from within when getting away from the upsetting environment that she was in and to be with animals that felt no
pity for her. She found peace within herself and her surroundings. Most African Americans like Goodall found strength within that "self" and became a
part of a social change. Similarly, African Americans participated in the protests and at the NAACP movement seeking for equality between the blacks
and the whites. They had to go through social change or a tough experience in life that made them realize that enough was enough and to cope with
their grief was through social change. Gladwell speaks on the behalf of the protesters who found strength to fight back saying, "It spread to those cities
which had preexisting "movement centers"–a core of dedicated and trained activists ready to turn the "fever" into action" (Gladwell 139). Those
people who lived in small towns that no one heard of still were going through what the rest of the African Americans were going through. Each and
everyone of them had to go through the pain which lead to a personal change for them, becoming an activist who is ready to fight for a social change.
One of the stages of grief, is denial where you question everything that comes to mind. Grieving changes a person's inner self or the "self" Goodall
refers to that makes them want to be a part of a social change or activism. A personal change can include losing someone or being let

Personal Behavior Change
Introduction The behavior I selected was to create a habit of drinking at least one gallon of water every day. I chose this behavior because after talking
to my academic advisor and evaluating my life, I felt that, as an athlete, the consumption of the right fluids each day would have the greatest effect on
my body. The dimension ofhealth affected by this behavior change is obviously my physical health. The drinks you consume on a daily basis affect
your body greatly. Overall they affect the body day–by–day and in the long run. Day–by–day changes to the body include energy and food cravings.
Yet also, in the long run, the body's intake of fluids can lead to or prevent disease, chronic illness, and overall appearance. Though physical health

First I had to identify a few obstacles that could hinder my plan from working affectively. These obstacles included: My desire for other drinks (i.e.
juices, sodas, Gatorade), outside forces such as restaurants and friends offering other drinks, and the habit of thinking there is a better option than
water. I then found it affective to come up with various strategies to that I could use to overcome the aforementioned obstacles. First, I decided to
use the shaping technique mentioned in some our studies by steadily building up my water intake for each day. Also, I decided to substitute all
drinks at dinner with water only. This helped greatly because dinner is the meal of the day where I tend to consume the greatest amount of fluids.
I also decided to keep several 24 ounce bottles of water beside my bed and refrigerator to help encourage me to drink more water. The last strategy I
decided to implement was exercising more so that my body would crave more fluids. Exercising extra was hard because I am a college basketball
player, so finding time to add in more physical activity even when my body was hurting was very difficult, but it also proved how dedicated I was to
the process of behavior change. In any behavior change plan it is very important to make sure that short–term goals are set and also mini–rewards. If I
was able to drink 64 ounces of water each day for the first five days, I would allow myself to enjoy a flavored water with my dinner. If I was able to
drink 96 ounces of water each day for the next three days, I then would allow myself to enjoy a day of rest which is something I don't experience very
often. If I then drank a gallon each day for the next three days, I allowed myself to enjoy a day at the mall, because I love to shop for myself yet rarely

Significant Personal Change Research Paper
What is significant personal change? This is the question that I have reflected on for weeks now. I pondered if I have experienced significant
personal change within my life. I concluded that notable personal change is hard to come by at the tender age of twenty years old. Right now, I cling

hurdles. Of course, I have changed considerably physically and mentally since my early youth. However, were those adjustments of adolescent's worthy

Personal Changes : Personal Change
Personal Changes According to Webster's Dictionary change has three distinct meanings that apply to the topic of personal change. These meanings of
change are: to become different, to make something different, and to become something else (Change, n.d.). All of these descriptions of change could
really be used to describe the transformation that takes place when one experiences a life change, be it personal, or work related. The bottom line of
this definition of change is the fact that the individual is moving from a current state, to some future unknown state, and the result of this
transformation is what is better known to all of us as change. This becoming something else is often faced with fear and trepidation due to the lack of

Finally, in 2010 my organization created a new position called Medical Services Officer. This position worked a four day a week, 10 hours a day
schedule and oversaw all Emergency Medical Services (EMS) training and education. This was my opportunity and I pursued it. I scored high
enough on the test and was promoted to the position. Soon after, the Chief of EMS retired and I was promoted into that position and now oversee
our entire EMS program. Some significant, and unanticipated effects occurred with these rapid changes. First, I really missed (more than I thought
I would) providing care on a day to day basis. Second, I missed the comradery of the fire service. This is a family oriented career, and I no longer
worked day in and day out with that family. Last, and surprisingly I had a really hard time adjusting to working a day shift. This took me nearly two
years to become accustomed to. I really missed my work schedule, and the lifestyle that I had developed over the years. This was a major adjustment
for me. Psychology of Change Grand Canyon University (2011), states that change can be something that can be anticipated, and looked forward to. In
fact, change has many positive benefits in stretching the individual, or organization to realize potential that they never knew existed prior to
implementing the change. Yet the fact remains, no matter how

Change is Difficult, but Inevitable in Life Essay
Change can often be a difficult thing for everyone to accept. No matter how big or small, sadly many of us fear it. The worry in change can be seen
evidently in that friend unsure of his future after high school, or that family member who stumbles when asked what they would like to eat, only to
order the same thing they have ordered the last 10 times. From moving to another city, to ordering a different meal at your favorite restaurant,
everyone will have that important date with change. The difference is in how each person decides to handle it. Some like to walk her to the door and
give her a kiss goodnight, some even refuse to accept it's happening, and some don't even show up. I am one of those people, emailing that "I just can't

As a young boy, friends are made quickly, generally without any thought. A

problem. Change is simply a tool, it is you who decides what to make with it.
As one grows up they may learn that moving can bring a better life, new friends can be more rewarding than the last, or that big changes are essential

Personal Essay : How I Changed The World
Currently it is the year of 2045, and everything has changed since I the past many years. For example we don't use cars anymore, we get around by
flyboards. Flyboards are thin and long, there are two places where you put your feet, and then you lean towards where you want to go. Another
example is the iphone brand, right now the newest edition is the iphone 20. Instead of going to call someone by tapping the screen, the phone can read
your mind and do it for you.

The last thing I heard him say was, "Don't touch anything, I'll be back." Then he walked off. I stood in front of the time machine and stared blankly at
it. I kept hearing my brothers words repeat in my head, "Don't touch anything." Without those words meaning anything to me, I stepped into the
machine, and there was a screen that read, "Pick Your Time Of Where You Want To Go." I was about to press "Yesterday" but I accidently pressed
"shuffle".
Fear rushed over my body as I tried to escape, but the doors have already shut. I screamed and banged on the door begging for some kind of help
when suddenly, it came to a complete stop. The doors opened and I stepped out curiously. Dumbfounded, I stared at where I was trying to put
together where I might be. I saw my old home from when I was a child. I ran inside my house to see what was going on inside. Once I was inside I
saw that nobody was home, and nothing was there. I don't remember this day from my past. I searched the house for anything, but it was like no
one lived here, like my family never existed. I stood still hoping for something or someone to show up, to hear a sound, but nothing happened. I ran
out the house in tears, filled with fear and worry. My knees buckled and I collapsed in the middle of the yard. Many loud cries escaped my mouth, and
the sobs made my body shake. I was petrified I'd never see my family

Personal Change In College
A personal change not only can affect the person making the change but their family and friends as well. Each person is an end product of all their
life experiences that they have endured as well as the process of changes they have gone through to come out the other end. Change is inevitable and
every person endures change from time to time in their lifetimes. Change is hard, it can cause emotional and physical pain sometimes, In fact our
mind subconsciously tries to steer us away from emotional, physical, and spiritual pain. Change is really hard to accept and proper planning should
be done in order to avoid some unpleasantness. In the following paper I will discuss a difficult and challenging change I went through when I decided

myself for college. I tried to research different colleges on my own but between working full time while in high school and taking care of my father I
was pretty overwhelmed. So I made an appointment with my counselor in high school and looked through the catalog book to apply for different
colleges and learn what requirements are needed to be successfully be considered a scholarship candidate.
Action
I started talking to my family about going to college. It was a very tense period in my life because I felt I was abandoning my family but I also
knew the only way out of poverty is through education. My family supported me through the process which was very satisfying. I began to fill out
my applications for college and started sending them. Once I got accepted in a university I made a huge leap and enrolled into the program and
started my journey towards a better life for myself and my family.

Personality Theory Research Paper

  • 1. Personality Theory Research Paper Over the last 100 years, the underpinning concepts in the fields of psychology and counseling were wrought. Within this period, these concepts have transformed and evolved from somewhat crude conceptions of the psyche toward more holistic interventions and approaches. As the profession continues to move forward, adaptations of the original theorists regarding the nature of man and the development of personality continue to emerge. These adaptations, along with the integration of new concepts and ideas, continue to contribute to the field. The author describes his view of man and human nature, personality development, and explores potential implications for counseling. Nature of Man The work of Sigmund Freud continues to influence...show more content... It does, however, imply that at the center of all of us is a genetic code of animalistic survival. Regardless of how civilized we become, what moral guidelines we breed, or how giving we are to the less fortunate, we all at the core will do what is necessary to survive. This includes actions that would be considered antisocial, if not actions directly against others. Personality Theory Freud proposed the psychological structure of personality to include three systems called the id, the ego, and the superego. At birth, the id is the original system of personality and is ruled by the pleasure principle. It is driven towards satisfying instinctual needs. The ego can be described as a mediator between ones instincts and their surrounding environment. The ego is ruled by the reality principle, using realistic and logical thinking to formulate action plans for satisfying needs. The superego includes a person's moral code and strives for perfection, not pleasure. Psychic energy is distributed between these three systems creating dynamics of personality. This psychic energy is what determines behavior (Day, 2008). Modern man has other obligations to fulfill other than his own, as society also makes demands of each of us. This causes the person to attempt to further suppress the id from public view. Most

  • 3. An Individual 's Personality Change Essay Over the years, there has been a debate over whether or not personality can be changed. Growing older, experiencing life, and seeking personality change are all factors that play a part in this change. Throughout an individual's life, they are constantly strengthening and weakening certain traits, whether they want to or not. In the contents of this paper, personality change is discussed, showing that it is possible for an individual to change their personality. Can an Individual's Personality Change? Sometimes it seems unfair that individual's are assigned certain personality traits without the want of those traits. An individual might want to be an introvert wanting to be an extrovert, a procrastinator wanting to be productive, or any other personality trait that they want to trade for another. Is it possible to change an individual's personality or are they stuck with the same personality their whole life? An individual's personality can change because of aging, major life events, and simply the desire to change one's personality. Aging Most of the time, a person can change their personality unintentionally through simply growing older. Through aging, some traits will strengthen and some traits will weaken. For instance, when starting to work at a new job, an individual will have to learn to develop new skills, which can change their personality. According to the Big–Five theory, personality is described by openness, conscientiousness, extroversion, agreeableness, and Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Changes in Life Essay In my life, I have been exposed to a challenge called change. Change can occur in many different ways and is dealt with in many different ways. I have come to the awareness that change can be the deepest of all things. I always thought that change occurred when you moved to a state or when you lost someone real close to you. Those are a challenge to change, yes, but change doesn't have to occur over a climactic incident. It can just appear overnight when your brain winds up when it's time to do something different. Even with friends that you used to have and know that move on. For example, most of my friends from elementary school, I don't even talk to them anymore. For obvious reasons, people will turn down the changes in life. ...show more content... It's depressing how this works, but it's probably the most reason why people change. It's much like peer pressure which usually ends up in the wrong direction. For example, I was almost peer pressured to consume alcohol and to do smoking. Fortunately, for me, I escaped that change and didn't experience it. The people we adore love us so much that they want us to remain the way we are forever. Like how my mother always wanted me to stay the same little child, but I grew up. Not all people can stay the same for a long time. If the people we love and adore would just accept the change and go with it, they would understand where the change was coming from. It can be shaky to try to stop change and fight against it, especially if the person wants to change a lot. When I was ready for high school, I was expected to change almost everything in my life. The reason that somebody wants to change is usually not their choice, but a feeling that the person feels inside their head. Maybe the change isn't the best change, but if you dig deeper, the person that you adore isn't really changing. They are just trying to find themselves and the one thing they need the most is the support of the people who they care about the most. When I was attending college, I was expecting a lot of changing to take place. With the support of my family and friends, it was no big deal for me. When the people they care about the most, detach their change as Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. My Personal Change Reflection Micheal jackson said it best when he sang about 'changing the man in the mirror'. During these past twenty days I have participated in a personal change challenge. What my fellow classmates and I were instructed to do was to add, delete or change something about our lives for twenty days and record our findings in a personal journal. I decided that the change I needed in my life was motivation and positivity. So each morning of the challenge, I started out with a motivational video. These videos was suppose to make me happier, more productive and boost my mental health. However , here are the results I recorded throughout this twenty day challenge. While I cannot remember who the speaker was, I do remember that I was more offended than motivated. The video questioned my reasoning for existing and asked what my purpose was in this world. Had I even began to leave my mark on this Earth? I quickly started questioning everything I have ever done. However, after discussing the video the topic with a few, well know teachers, I slowly found the motivation in the video and began to be excited about the next nineteen days still yet to come. This excitement however, was short lived. Half way through the challenge , I was ready to give up. As first the videos were motivational and i was increasing being more productive throughout my day but as the days wore on the videos seemed to only be repeating each other, one after another, each speaker saying the same exact words as Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. The Change-Personal Narrative Essay The Change–Personal Narrative The New Year filled me with the desire to pursue new adventures. Like most people, I became consumed in the January resolution ritual of making promises of changing my life, but retreating from them as March approaches. But I decided to carry through with my commitments this year. Three of my closest friends and I decided to challenge ourselves after days of relaxation in the safety and shelter of civilization and to return to the isolation of the wilderness. Despite the nobility of our quest we were forced to bring along miniature symbols of the world we were leaving for basic survival such as a propane stove, expensive sleeping bags, and two light weight tents. A eighteen mile overnight adventure...show more content... After a brief navigational error from a missed turn, the starting point of our journey came upon us. The sun had just climbed over the first huge hill and its brilliant rays shone upon us as we set off on our journey. Nearby, a river flowed with ice chunks, its banks heavily swollen withsnow. The day seemed to have cleared up for us. God had swept away the clouds and light snow showers and delivered an unexpectedly mild climate. We began our journey to the top of the first revine of earth with tremendous excitement and eagerness–– unbeknown to us the difficulties that would beset our tired and out of shape bodies. Off the beaten trail we encountered one of the most spectacular scenes of nature I've ever seen. A lake in the distance was a mere pond, houses were small pellets of wood, and the nearest city was dwarfed in comparison to the vast acres of woods. Alone, atop a snowy almost like mountain, we each stood on the edge and absorbed the awesome sight before us. I had evolved from the same primordial soup as the landscape I saw before me, but now I felt like a stranger just passing through an exotic terrain. Continuing over peaks and valleys for hours we continued on, hopeful of reaching the midway point before the dangers of dusk covered us in a thick blanket of darkness. The trail soon Get more content on HelpWriting.net

When I cried at night no one there was there to wipe my tears away. No one knows what I go through. No one is feeling the pain I had to go through. So many people has hurt me that's why hard for me to trust to care to love because I been hurt. My personality has to change even though it already did. This world is mean and filled with horrible people in it. People that don't care about anyone but them selves. People does stupid things because there jealous of that person. No one wants to see you succeed they want you to failed like they did. No one cares or love you in this world. Its just me against this world. • 8. Personal Narrative: Change The saying goes "Change is what makes the world go round". Well, my world would move much smoother if I got rid of a few things. Table condiments, meatloaf and roller chairs have got to go! My world would be a better place if these items didn't exist! I don't like table condiments because I can't stand when people waste them. There are kids around the world that are starving and some people have the nerve to dump an entire bottle of ketchup on their plate and then throw it away. I don't even like BBQ sauce, but if someone doesn't use all of it on his or her plate it drives me crazy! It drives me crazy enough to where I use the condiments off others plates. I can get over eating after their double dipping, but unused, wasted Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Personal Change: Course Analysis Since beginning this course, I have really been focusing on the word change. Taking a closer look at myself, I discovered that change was needed. When it came to personal change, when I was willing to understand that change was needed I began to evaluate what direction I wanted to go in my life. Then I began to figure out the things in my life that I might have to change then I slowly stepped away from them. To maintain the change that I had for my life I constantly reminded myself, "Angel you're trying to make yourself a better person for yourself and the people around you". Reminding myself of that often kept me on the right path in my life. Professional change is something that I constantly try to work on. Being in the military, that changes Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. My personality has significantly changed over time from the time I was a teenager till now that I'm an adult. Age has significantly contributed to how I view things, how I react to issues, and how I interact with other people. Some of the factors that have contributed to changes in my personality include entering into committed relationships and advancement in my careers. I have developed increase in positive traits like conscientiousness and a decrease in traits that are considered negative, such as neuroticism. Compared to the time I was a teenager, I have significantly become more responsible, more agreeable, and more emotionally stable. I remember I used to fight a lot when I was a teenager but as I grow into adulthood, I have learnt how to handle issues and control myself as well. In essence, my personality has significantly improved. When I was a teenager, I used to be irresponsible, unsociable, and shy. However, I have since become friendly, responsible, and outgoing. This has made me live a happier life compared to the life I was living before. Living a happy life has improved my personality in the sense that it has made me become more conscientious, more emotionally stable, and more agreeable. My pattern of feeling, thinking, and behaving has since become consistent over time and in different situations. I have also improved on how I interact with people from different backgrounds and origins as well as individuals with different personalities. I Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. 1.Pick one thing from each chapter you are assigned to read this week. Tell (1) how it relates to you personally and (2) how you can use what you have learned in a medical office. Change is discussed in Chapter 11 of Human Relationships. Change is something everyone goes through but often causes a great deal of stress. I know this is especially true in my life. Even when people have notice of the change it can still cause a great deal of stress. For example, when school first started I was extremely overwhelmed. I had months to prepare for school though. On the bright side, there's some things I can do to make change easier. Being able to recognize that change is something I can't control and as something that is going to happen is the first step. Recognizing the Seven Stages of Personal Change are essential to smooth transition process. I can recognize the anger and helplessness I feel over change are all too common. Recognizing the feelings and emotions that come with change will allow me to move through the seven stages easier. This is very important in a medical office because change is always happening, Employee changes in the office, company changes, medical changes, and law changes among others. Recognizing change needs to happen and knowing how to deal with it is vital in a medical office. When a manager can adapt to change they can adapt to anything. Core Communications taught me I really need to work on how I respond to people, and be more aware of how people are Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Personal Reflections on Change Personal reflections on change 'People don't change.' How often is this clichГѓ© repeated to someone who has recently broken up with a boyfriend or girlfriend? The spurned partner comforts him or herself with the wisdom: 'I tried to change him or her but I could not." All too often I have found myself holding a good friend's hand after a breakup, as they say: "People don't change." However I would respectfully disagree with this contention (although I never say it to a friend's face). People do change but they do not always change in the ways we want them to change. All of the pleading, cajoling, and yelling in the world will not result in someone changing and becoming an ideal, faithful and loving partner. The change that occurs must be desired from within or, if imposed upon from without, will not necessarily result in the desired type of change. The need for truly self–willed and self–desired change is also seen in the example of someone who is battling and addiction to drugs, alcohol, or some other self–destructive behavior pattern like an eating disorder. These psychological disorders are some of the most difficult for clinicians to treat, and while there is a biological basis for this fact, another reason for their intractability is the ambivalence sufferers feel about giving up their lifestyle as an addict as well as their habit. The parents, loved ones, and children of the addict may desire change; the addict does not necessarily feel the same way. The Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 14. Personal Change Essay For every change within a society, personal changes with "self" must happen. These social changes are important to people while, people who don't benefit from it think changes within the self isn't important for social changes. Personal change is a journey a person takes of discovering something within themselves and acting upon a social change. That social change is society evolving to better ways. Jane Goodall talks about her experience in a moment of truth with self being absent in a moment of need in her writing titled In the Forest of Gombe, where she spends a few weeks in the forest following chimpanzees has helped her cope with her grief of her husband. She comes to the realization that her "self" was nonexistent and everyone in ...show more content... This crisis had changed her "self" from within when getting away from the upsetting environment that she was in and to be with animals that felt no pity for her. She found peace within herself and her surroundings. Most African Americans like Goodall found strength within that "self" and became a part of a social change. Similarly, African Americans participated in the protests and at the NAACP movement seeking for equality between the blacks and the whites. They had to go through social change or a tough experience in life that made them realize that enough was enough and to cope with their grief was through social change. Gladwell speaks on the behalf of the protesters who found strength to fight back saying, "It spread to those cities which had preexisting "movement centers"–a core of dedicated and trained activists ready to turn the "fever" into action" (Gladwell 139). Those people who lived in small towns that no one heard of still were going through what the rest of the African Americans were going through. Each and everyone of them had to go through the pain which lead to a personal change for them, becoming an activist who is ready to fight for a social change. One of the stages of grief, is denial where you question everything that comes to mind. Grieving changes a person's inner self or the "self" Goodall refers to that makes them want to be a part of a social change or activism. • 15. Personal Behavior Change Introduction The behavior I selected was to create a habit of drinking at least one gallon of water every day. I chose this behavior because after talking to my academic advisor and evaluating my life, I felt that, as an athlete, the consumption of the right fluids each day would have the greatest effect on my body. The dimension ofhealth affected by this behavior change is obviously my physical health. The drinks you consume on a daily basis affect your body greatly. Overall they affect the body day–by–day and in the long run. Day–by–day changes to the body include energy and food cravings. Yet also, in the long run, the body's intake of fluids can lead to or prevent disease, chronic illness, and overall appearance. Though physical health ...show more content... First I had to identify a few obstacles that could hinder my plan from working affectively. These obstacles included: My desire for other drinks (i.e. juices, sodas, Gatorade), outside forces such as restaurants and friends offering other drinks, and the habit of thinking there is a better option than water. I then found it affective to come up with various strategies to that I could use to overcome the aforementioned obstacles. First, I decided to use the shaping technique mentioned in some our studies by steadily building up my water intake for each day. Also, I decided to substitute all drinks at dinner with water only. This helped greatly because dinner is the meal of the day where I tend to consume the greatest amount of fluids. I also decided to keep several 24 ounce bottles of water beside my bed and refrigerator to help encourage me to drink more water. The last strategy I decided to implement was exercising more so that my body would crave more fluids. Exercising extra was hard because I am a college basketball player, so finding time to add in more physical activity even when my body was hurting was very difficult, but it also proved how dedicated I was to the process of behavior change. In any behavior change plan it is very important to make sure that short–term goals are set and also mini–rewards. If I was able to drink 64 ounces of water each day for the first five days, I would allow myself to enjoy a flavored water with my dinner. If I was able to drink 96 ounces of water each day for the next three days, I then would allow myself to enjoy a day of rest which is something I don't experience very often. If I then drank a gallon each day for the next three days, I allowed myself to enjoy a day at the mall, because I love to shop for myself yet rarely Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 16. Significant Personal Change Research Paper What is significant personal change? This is the question that I have reflected on for weeks now. • 17. Personal Changes : Personal Change Personal Changes According to Webster's Dictionary change has three distinct meanings that apply to the topic of personal change. These meanings of change are: to become different, to make something different, and to become something else (Change, n.d.). All of these descriptions of change could really be used to describe the transformation that takes place when one experiences a life change, be it personal, or work related. The bottom line of this definition of change is the fact that the individual is moving from a current state, to some future unknown state, and the result of this transformation is what is better known to all of us as change. This becoming something else is often faced with fear and trepidation due to the lack of ...show more content... Finally, in 2010 my organization created a new position called Medical Services Officer. This position worked a four day a week, 10 hours a day schedule and oversaw all Emergency Medical Services (EMS) training and education. This was my opportunity and I pursued it. I scored high enough on the test and was promoted to the position. Soon after, the Chief of EMS retired and I was promoted into that position and now oversee our entire EMS program. Some significant, and unanticipated effects occurred with these rapid changes. First, I really missed (more than I thought I would) providing care on a day to day basis. Second, I missed the comradery of the fire service. This is a family oriented career, and I no longer worked day in and day out with that family. Last, and surprisingly I had a really hard time adjusting to working a day shift. This took me nearly two years to become accustomed to. I really missed my work schedule, and the lifestyle that I had developed over the years. This was a major adjustment for me. Psychology of Change Grand Canyon University (2011), states that change can be something that can be anticipated, and looked forward to. In fact, change has many positive benefits in stretching the individual, or organization to realize potential that they never knew existed prior to implementing the change. • 18. Change is Difficult, but Inevitable in Life Essay Change can often be a difficult thing for everyone to accept. No matter how big or small, sadly many of us fear it. The worry in change can be seen evidently in that friend unsure of his future after high school, or that family member who stumbles when asked what they would like to eat, only to order the same thing they have ordered the last 10 times. From moving to another city, to ordering a different meal at your favorite restaurant, everyone will have that important date with change. The difference is in how each person decides to handle it. Some like to walk her to the door and give her a kiss goodnight, some even refuse to accept it's happening, and some don't even show up. I am one of those people, emailing that "I just can't make...show more content... Maybe it is a new job, or the promise of seeing old friends. Moving is a perfect example of how pain and change can equal gain. Although difficult to accept, sometimes embracing the odd variation can be rewarding. As a young boy, friends are made quickly, generally without any thought. A Tonka Truck rear–ends another Tonka Truck and within two minutes of sandbox hit and runs a new friend is made. The same cannot be said ofHigh school. Those friends you made in elementary are still your friends when you first enter into high school. But slowly they drift off into the abyss, slipping into with different cliques and before you know it, you are put on the backburner. You feel forced, worried and are fairly sure that rear –ending a grads car will not work. This is yet another perfect example of change, that anyone that's ever been to high school has probably faced. Accepting this sort adjustment will teach you new skills, and a lot about yourself. Making new friends can be hard or easy, depending on how you tackle the problem. Change is simply a tool, it is you who decides what to make with it. As one grows up they may learn that moving can bring a better life, new friends can be more rewarding than the last, or that big changes are essential to proper development and progression. • 19. Personal Essay : How I Changed The World Currently it is the year of 2045, and everything has changed since I the past many years. For example we don't use cars anymore, we get around by flyboards. Flyboards are thin and long, there are two places where you put your feet, and then you lean towards where you want to go. I stood in front of the time machine and stared blankly at it. I kept hearing my brothers words repeat in my head, "Don't touch anything." Without those words meaning anything to me, I stepped into the machine, and there was a screen that read, "Pick Your Time Of Where You Want To Go." I was about to press "Yesterday" but I accidently pressed "shuffle". Fear rushed over my body as I tried to escape, but the doors have already shut. I screamed and banged on the door begging for some kind of help when suddenly, it came to a complete stop. The doors opened and I stepped out curiously. Dumbfounded, I stared at where I was trying to put together where I might be. I saw my old home from when I was a child. I ran inside my house to see what was going on inside. Once I was inside I saw that nobody was home, and nothing was there. I don't remember this day from my past. I searched the house for anything, but it was like no one lived here, like my family never existed. I stood still hoping for something or someone to show up, to hear a sound, but nothing happened. I ran out the house in tears, filled with fear and worry. My knees buckled and I collapsed in the middle of the yard. Many loud cries escaped my mouth, and the sobs made my body shake. I was petrified I'd never see my family Get more content on HelpWriting.net
