Cause Of Poverty In Africa
In recent years the international community has shown increasing concern with poverty in the developing world. Lack of money has been the major
cause of extreme poverty in many countries of the world for a long time. This is the biggest problem in Africa. Many different groups of people are
being affected by this. This can cause terrible suffering and possibly even death. Poverty is the biggest problem because it leads to poaching, piracy, and
the issue with child laboring and trafficking.
Poaching is one of the leading effects of the poverty in Africa. There are many poachers who are seeking money, but the only way they look at finding
it is through killing wildlife. They are illegally killing animals, especially elephants, and ivory....show more content...
Secondly, piracy is another problem because of the poverty in Africa. Many of the so–called "pirates" are the people who have been kidnapping others
for ransom, which drives the poorer areas of Africa to turn crime in order to make money. "In West Africa, the most Nigerian pirates belong to
well–organized international criminal networks and are armed to the teeth with automatic weapons" (Palet). This shows how piracy has been
taken to higher risks of more people being murdered if they are trying to be stopped. Many people have been held or kidnapped, to testify the fact
if they have money. Little kids are being affected, by them getting trained in the early years to become a "pirate" and carry on the kidnapping and
capturing a ship's cargo. Like this, other situations don't involve "pirates" and just may simply kidnap people, but with piracy, it involves attacking
boats and stealing their goods. The standards in Washington believes that this could be stopped by simply living through piracy as an unavoidable
bother, prevent piracy with naval controls, arm the cargo ships, and lastly to just take the war to the pirate hideouts on shore (Menkhaus). If piracy is
not fixed, further problems will be addressed. Africa and the people could become more deeply into the poverty state by pirates taking money, cargo,
goods, etc., away and for themselves to take along. Much more people on ships are put at high

Poverty is the condition of ignorance , disease , high children death rate , low life level and Malnutrition which Shorten people lives and closes minds
and locks the future of the country , diseases attack children, dirt and pollution surround the environment . The poor is not only lacking in money and
material wealth, but suffering from a low level of income, and hence consumption, and a weak share of educational services, health and security, due to
economic fluctuations, as well as the weakness of the chances of political participation .
Africa is one of the most country in the world that suffers from poverty and low living conditions . Under these circumstances, the Poverty Reduction
Strategic Papers, which provide the basis for international financial institutions to provide loans to poor countries, has emerged as an opportunity to
increase popular participation in decision–making and give borrowers the opportunity to formulate a self–reduction strategy Poverty, commensurate
with their internal conditions and conditions.
Poverty in Africa does not mean deprivation of money and wealth which is measured by the concept of income and consumption , but extends to
include the decline of per capita revenue of economic development of basic services, education and health care . One–third of Africa population is
starving and about one–sixth of the children die before the age of five, despite the continued population increase in many of Africa's countries . The

Poverty in Africa
Most people heard the word "poverty in Africa." It is an issue that many country, other countries, wanted to help out with Some charities every year to
help the African countries that are in need. However, the amount of poverty in Africa rose 44% from 1994 to 2005, and the numbers keep rosing.
Also, 32 of the 49 least–wealthy countries are in Africa. the questions are, why are many of Africa country are poor.
Conflict
In the past 50 years, there are more than 20 major civil wars in Africa. At least 15 African countries are involved in a civil or border war. There are a
couple of reasons why this conflict is a cause of poverty in Africa. For example, farming is nearly impossible in conflict–ridden areas, often causing
problem. It does not matter how fertile the land is , if the farmers are concentrating on fighting a war or militia groups destroy the land. The war
refugees can cause an economic problem as well. Refugees are those that are forced out of their homes and ways of life either by violence or by
military force. These refugees need to find a new place to live,. However, these refugees can economically and socially strain other countries. Not only
does their presence make it seem like the other country is voluntarily housing the refugees (which could be especially dangerous in cases such as
Darfur, where the government is involved in the conflict), but the country's

Causes Of Poverty In Africa
Majority of the families in Africa are unable to afford school tuition in higher and basic education, in some countries like my home country Rwanda
public high schools are free tuition, but there are still many families who cannot afford school accessories such as books, uniforms, and food as
primarily needs for their children to go to school. The big part of Africans remains uneducated and lives underpoverty due to lack of access to basic
education.
Africa is plagued with more life–threatening diseases than any others continent, such as HIV AIDS, Ebola and malaria to name a few. With huge
numbers of people dying from those diseases every year and millions of its citizens affected by HIV. And healthcare has affected due to the increase of
poverty. Many African families cannot afford health insurance because of low income. People end up selling their properties to pay medical treatments,
those families always end up in an extreme poverty.
African governments will have to go off the limits to find solutions for poverty here. Despite debates on causes and solutions of Africa`s poverty,
there are no specific set of solutions have been developed for it. Poverty is not just the lack of money; Also, it is because people cannot afford basic
living needs, they have unpredictable and they cannot plan for their future. But there are some measures and solution that can be taken for Africa`s
poverty.
Corruption has been identified as one of the main causes of poverty in Africa.

Poverty in Kenya, Africa
Poverty is one of the biggest problems that the world faces in present time. The poverty that takes place in more underdeveloped countries such as
Kenya, Africa, is majorly affecting the citizens because of the diseases that are being spread throughout the entire state, the lack of medical supplies
that is needed for each doctor, and unsanitary water and a very insufficient amount of food. The health and well being of the citizens of Kenya, Africa is
horrific, many of the diseases that are spread are very severe which can sooner or later lead to death. With Kenya's many water sources, Kenya has a
high rate of water–borne diseases. Most of these water–borne diseases are not found in developed countries because of the sophisticated water...show

Although, rates of HIV and AIDS infection have slowed during recent years, it is still a major problem. Millions of families are impacted by these
serious conditions and diseases making it hard for them. Either the government needs to help the citizens by investigating more into the problem
and then help prevent it or more people are going to keep dying due to these severe diseases. A major factor in the recurring food crisis in Kenya,
Africa is the lack of political will to make Kenya's food more secure. Many of the reasons and causes of the food problem is the high prices which
none of the Kenyans can afford and also their past president, Mwai Kibaki had failed to provide solutions to prevent for shortage and hunger.
Instead famine and drought were declared as "national disasters" instead of the lack of food. Over ten million citizens of Kenya, Africa suffer from
poor nutrition as well as persistent food insecurity. More then two million people require food assistance which is mostly always due to droughts and
floorings that occur. Recently a conflict has occurred in east Africa, where Kenya is, and according to the United States World Food Programme, "the
conflict has driven hundred of thousands of people from their homes, adding a whole new layer of hardship in a country where many people were

Causes Of Poverty In Africa
a. Africa is a continent associated with the cradle of mankind. It is believed to be a resourceful continent. Associated with heavy forests, flooded rivers
and lakes, rich volcanic soils that favors agriculture, huge deserts that harbor tons of oil and petroleum products, vast land for both settlement and
industrialization and heavy vegetation that sustains its ecosystem and all life forms. Most European countries and developed countries obtain their raw
materials from Africa. But the above source materials provide strong evidence that is yet Africa as a continent characterized by poor states and poverty
–stricken countries. Both articles argue that among those affected are women and children who face the pangs of hunger and famine each season. It
is sad to read that the political class and affluent are keeping resources to themselves hence enhancing the gap between the poor and rich. Poverty in
Africa has made it impossible to fight natural calamities like diseases, famine, drought and other risks associated with poverty. However, the issue of
income disparities in Africa is a controversial one since income disparities are attributed to poverty in Africa.
b. It is unfortunate to learn that a continent can rich in resources but still remain in critical levels of poverty. I have come to appreciate the fact that
politics play a role in building economic status of a country. This is because income disparity is believed to be a major cause of poverty in Africa with

Poverty is one of the society's most difficult problems to overcome. Even in the United States has abject poverty in every city. On average, 40 to 50%
of sub–Saharan Africans live below the poverty line. This is a higher proportion than in any other region except South Asia stated (World Bank, 1996a).
The effects of poverty in Africa are poor education, diseases, and overpopulation. One of the most devastating effects of poverty in Africa is poor
education in most country households are making a considerable donation, which can have national and neighborhood consequences, by actually
putting into education stated (Rempel & Lobdell, 1978). Education is also a major component of well–being. The cost of education to country
households can be high, and most complain the cost of the school fee is one of many problems that they have to encounter, having to deal with
educational expenses is more of a problem. They also go into other situations in which investible resources are insufficient for them. Since increased
productivity and income prospects can vary by the nature of the educational experience, there are a lot of questions that need to be answered in
particular contexts in deciding how much education of what levels and types to provide. It is likely possible that education is involved with changes in
population growth rates, and that education of one generation has an impact on the "human

Africa, the world's second largest and second most–populous continent. A land full of deserts, rain forests and beautiful sceneries but the first thing that
comes to mind when someone think about Africa is poverty, a battlefield, lack or resources, dictatorship, child soldiers and civil war. There are many
reasons why Africa has broken down as a country some being the political instability of the country, disagreement of believes, economic breakdown
other country's stealing natural resources, colonial wars, wars of independence, secessionist and separatist conflicts and the list can go on. The
countries of Africa starting falling victim to all this around the 1960s and for the last few decades this place has been hell on earth. An estimate of
around 50000 people have been killed in Sierra Leone, there has been a race murder of hundreds of people in The Democratic Republic of Congo,
a genocide of thousands of people in Rwanda and Burundi and there are many more places just like these where it has turned to complete chaos.
Most of it has been run by independent armies that mostly consist of some older generals and the rest being child soldiers. What has turned Africa to
have done this? Africa has been known for its diverse ethnically across the whole continent people are related with different tribes and each tribe has
its own culture, language, believes, traditions and ways of living if you look at other nations that have been destroyed by civil wars you can find that

A dollar a day. Imagine that. A dollar a day. For many residents of Africa, living off one or two dollars a day is all too real. Poverty is the biggest
problem in Africa. If poverty did not exist, then starvation, poaching, piracy and child labor and other problems would at least be reduced if not
defeated. With a worldwide effort, perhapspoverty could go extinct.
Most Africans are below the poverty line. They're hungry, they're homeless, and they're jobless. In the dry, barren Sub
–Saharan area of Africa lives
"below US$ 1.25 per day, often at half that level of income" (McArthur). Below the Saharan desert is an extremely large area to have that many
people living in poverty. To simply put what little food they can afford onto their table the people of Africa have to take drastic measures. So, they
turn to giving their children to the cocoa industry in hopes of money, shooting an elephant and cutting off tusks in hopes of money, hopping on a
random ship and kidnapping people in hopes of money, etc. People are risking their lives for money because dying trying to make a dollar sounds
better than starving due to sickness they can't get medication for. Africa's biggest problem is poverty because poverty kills in many forms. Poverty
doesn't even have to mean lack of money. Poverty can be the lack of education to get the people of Africa out of their situation. Things like better
infrastructure in towns, better schools, and better health care are "captured by powerful elites

Associated with heavy forests, flooded rivers and lakes, rich volcanic soils that favors agriculture, huge deserts that harbor tons of oil and petroleum products, vast land for both settlement and industrialization and heavy vegetation that sustains its ecosystem and all life forms. Most European countries and developed countries obtain their raw materials from Africa. But the above source materials provide strong evidence that is yet Africa as a continent characterized by poor states and poverty –stricken countries. Both articles argue that among those affected are women and children who face the pangs of hunger and famine each season. It is sad to read that the political class and affluent are keeping resources to themselves hence enhancing the gap between the poor and rich. Poverty in Africa has made it impossible to fight natural calamities like diseases, famine, drought and other risks associated with poverty. However, the issue of income disparities in Africa is a controversial one since income disparities are attributed to poverty in Africa. b. It is unfortunate to learn that a continent can rich in resources but still remain in critical levels of poverty. I have come to appreciate the fact that politics play a role in building economic status of a country. • 9. Poverty In Africa A dollar a day. Imagine that. A dollar a day. For many residents of Africa, living off one or two dollars a day is all too real. Poverty is the biggest problem in Africa. If poverty did not exist, then starvation, poaching, piracy and child labor and other problems would at least be reduced if not defeated. With a worldwide effort, perhapspoverty could go extinct. Most Africans are below the poverty line. They're hungry, they're homeless, and they're jobless. In the dry, barren Sub –Saharan area of Africa lives "below US$ 1.25 per day, often at half that level of income" (McArthur). Below the Saharan desert is an extremely large area to have that many people living in poverty. To simply put what little food they can afford onto their table the people of Africa have to take drastic measures. So, they turn to giving their children to the cocoa industry in hopes of money, shooting an elephant and cutting off tusks in hopes of money, hopping on a random ship and kidnapping people in hopes of money, etc. People are risking their lives for money because dying trying to make a dollar sounds better than starving due to sickness they can't get medication for. Africa's biggest problem is poverty because poverty kills in many forms. Poverty doesn't even have to mean lack of money. Poverty can be the lack of education to get the people of Africa out of their situation. Things like better infrastructure in towns, better schools, and better health care are "captured by powerful elites Get more content on HelpWriting.net
