NAME
SOGOC is a Christian church ministry that is denominational and autonomous.
PURPOSE
SOGOC’s purpose is to teach about Jesus Christ, build the life of Jesus in the believers, preach the
Gospel of Jesus Christ and expect the second coming of Jesus Christ.
GOAL
SOGOC’s goal is to preach the gospel to those especially in rural areas and uniting them hence
enhancing holistic trend to improve the believer’s living standards.
MOTTO
SOGOC focuses on the biblical command of living a holy life and working hard hence the motto
RIGHTEOUSNESS AND HARD WORK 1 Thess. 9:7, 2 Thess. 3:10-12, Proverbs 20:7; 19:34,
Psalms. 89:16 and 1 Cor. 1:30
VISION
SOGOC’s vision is to preach the gospel and make disciples coupled with building people to be self-
reliant.
OBJECTIVES
1. To provide Christian witness and spiritual nurture to all in Sondu locality.
2. To form branches wholly responsible to SOGOC.
3. To enhance modern agricultural practices for food security and economic empowerment.
4. To improve education of children and training of adults in various fields and skills.
5. To improve health and sanitation.
6. To enhance availability and access to safe drinking water.
7. To enhance self-sustaining income generating activities.
8. To empower and protect orphans, the aged, single parents, widows and the disabled.
OPERATION.
In pursuit of vision and focusing on her goal, SOGOC with very limited resources and capacity
manages to: -
- Subsidise medical care for the poor households among its members.
- Subsidise school fees in high school education.
- Enhance Christian witness and spiritual nurture through HBCs.
- Mobilise and train youths and women to be committed and effective Christians.
- Sponsor crusades and adopted kingdom values in partnership with others through keshas, rallies,
prayer meetings, personal witnessing, seminars, strong pulpit ministry and elaborate Bible
studies.
- Develop her infrastructure and maintains her facilities by involvement.
SOGOC’s limitation is mainly due to: -
(a) Inadequate funds.
(b) Lack of exposure.
(c) Low contact hours.
(d) Low level understanding due to traditional community position.
(e) High absenteeism rate.
(f) Cross sectional tribal set-up

2. INITIATIVES AND ACTIVITIES
SOGOC’s initiative is prioritised within her family in the church set-up annually as she intends to
spread out to the communities within its targeted area.
SOGOC currently operates the following departments minimally:-
1. Evangelism and discipleship.
2. Leadership and Economic empowerment.
3. Social programmes.
4. Infrastructure development.
As SOGOC aims to fulfil its mission, the challenges are great and are a healthy pointer at such a
time as this. Holistic approach to the preaching of the gospel is quite appropriate and effective if the
Sondu community has to be transformed to inhibit and to manifest God’s glory. The people have to
participate financially through hard work and uprightness.
To be enhanced are time management, networking, children ministry and development, discipleship
programme, micro- enterprise development, leadership development, support for orphans, widows,
single parents and the aged, effective education for the poor above primary level, HIV prevention
and control, family management, food and nutrition, safe water, primary health information and
adult literacy programme.
The pastor need better upkeep to be effective in the ministry.
On a weekly basis, SOGOC has a bible class, a home fellowship, choir practice twice, children
ministry, daily prayers at dawn and evenings, youth meetings, men’s fellowship, strong Sunday
services and intermittent visitation on Saturdays/Sundays. Church keshas, family, men’s and
women’s/ladies meeting are held once in a month. Seminars and revival meetings are held at least
quarterly.
SUSTAINABILITY
1. One can be involved in SOGOC by:-
(a). Being a member as stipulated in its constitution/ rules
(b). Supporting through: -
(i). Prayer.
(ii). Giving donations in cash or in kind.
(iii). Volunteering to offer technical and professional advice /services.
(iv). Sponsoring any SOGOC’s activities.
2. SOGOC intends to support itself on the basis of her motto through:-
(a). Initiating and managing viable income generating activities (IGAS)
(b). Training in institutional and human capacity
(c). Micro-enterprenuership.
(d). Subsidising food supplement and drugs.
PERSONNEL.
SOGOC’s work force is made of brethren whose heart God has touched and thrives in a
system of: - (a). The Pastor(s) (b). The staff /board/elders. (c). The members.
Members of SOGOC bare common responsibility to the objectives.
BUDGET/FINANCES.
The finances of SOGOC and other items are sourced majorly from the SOGOC family, friends and
donor(s). The treasurer receives and expends the church income always as stipulated and offer
advice accordingly.
