Sheno-Hua (Patrick) HUANG worked as a Campleader in the Workcamq WS15FP in
pas iland from the 22nd of June until the 4th of Julv 2015
PROJECT
The house Fontana Passugg on the ground ,,Riedliswiese" in Passugg-Araschgen is a hotel for ordinary
tourists and at the same time a centre for cultural and educative belongings and a meeting place for
people with impaired hearing. The house was built at the end of the 19th century. For several years the
place was a well-known health resort. In 1983 the last inheritor, decided that the house should be used
for deaf people and people with impaired hearing.
Several places were open for Volunteers with any kind of physical, mental or social handicap.
WORK
The aim of this Workcamp was to clean the surrounding after a long snowy winter. Volunteers prepared
the house and the surrounding for the main season and helped out in the hotel (kitchen, rooms). The
main tasks of the volunteers were: garden- and forest work, house and kitchen work.
WHAT IS A WORKCAMP
- An international group of young volunteers work together for non-profit based projects, related to
environment, construction, social issues, society, aft etc.
- During the workcamp, the volunteers live and work together with the intension to get to know
each others culture more deeply than on normal holiday and they work for a good cause. Each
workcamp is a cultural exchange as well as volunteering.
- The workcamp language is English.
- The volunteers work normally 6 hours a day.
THE TASKS OF A CAMPLEADER
- Coaching of the Volunteers, translate if necessary.
- To coordinate the work.
- To organise leisure activities.
- Contact person for Workcamp Switzerland and the hosting organisation.
- To help in case of conflicts in the group.
Workcamp Switzerland respects highly Sheng-Hua's (Patricks) collaboration in our Workcamp. His
motivation was high and the quality of the work excellent. His pleasant behaviour had a positive
influence to the whole group of volunteers and we are deeply grateful to Sheng-Hua Huang for his
participation. Workcamp Switzerland wishes Sheng-Hua Huang all the best for his future.
