- Syllabus: “This briefing is aimed at helping Members to understand both the rules that apply to debates in the Chamber (and Grand Committee) and the documents which provide information on what the House is debating. The briefing will cover issues such as self-regulation, Chamber etiquette, speaking times, motions and amendments, forms of address; and take you through the principal business documents, including the Order Paper, the House of Lords Business, Today’s List and Forthcoming Business.”
- When the House is in committee, procedures are more relaxed (members can speak as often as they wish) and the Lord in the chair sits on the right of the Table, not on the Woolsack. (Sorry, no recent photo available of the House in committee!)
