WORLD OF CHOICES JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT SPEECH: My Secrets of Success
Hockey Dedication Trophy
1.
2. Hockey Dedication Trophy
STAR – Young players from all over
Inglewood competed in a season of
hockey. It was the highest level of
hockey I had played before adult
hockey. We finished first place in the
playoffs and became the champions.
This season of hockey helped me
become hardworking and dedicated
through striving to become a better
hockey player. As a result this season
of hockey was a very memorable one
for me and taught me many things.
3. Karate Medal and
Certificate
STAR – When I was younger I
participated in Karate tournaments
around Ontario. From the ages of 7-12
I trained and performed at these
events. The photo above was my best
year when I took second place silver
medal in a sparring competition and
received my yellow belt certification. I
learned respect and learned to work
hard for the things I wanted. May be
going back to Karate this summer and
furthering my education. As a result I
feel this was a big part of my childhood
and a part of who I am today.
4. Middle School Diploma
STAR – Middle School was where I
learned my basic life skills. The step
before high school can be just as
important as what you learn in higher
education. These few years at Allan
Drive Middle School taught me to be
articulate and honest by
communicating with other classmates.
As a result I feel it is a huge part of
where I am today.
5. “Battlin’ Blueliners”
Hockey Team
STAR – I started playing on the Battlin’
Blueliners when I was 19. Many adults
from all over Toronto come together to
play in this league and it’s a blast. We
are tasked with winning first place
overall and to have fun while doing so.
The good group of guys on the team
including my father have taught me to
be hardworking and articulate while
playing on the team. As a result this is
a huge part of my life right now.
6. Trip to Florida/Family
STAR – My trip to Florida with my
family taught me many things. It had
been over 15 years since our last
vacation and it was exciting to see how
other cultures functioned. Taught me
that the world was bigger than just
Canada and there were many
opportunities out there. We stayed
over there about 2 weeks enjoying the
sun and checking out local sights.
Being a tourist for that period of time
was nice. As a result this was a very
memorable event for me and felt like
an accomplishment in itself for the 15
years of school and work I did.
