2. INTRODUCTION
• The totality of CSR can be best understood by three words: ‘corporate,’ ‘social,’ and
‘responsibility.’ In broad terms, CSR relates to responsibilities corporations have
towards society within which they are based and operate, not denying the fact that the
purview of CSR goes much beyond this. CSR is comprehended differently by different
people. CSR can be defined as the additional commitment by businesses to improve
the social and economic status of various stakeholders involved while complying with
all legal and economic requirements.
• In recent years, changing market scenario, globalization, ethical consumerism all are
adding heat to the CSR concept. Making profit is the primary goal of all
organizations; thus the companies target to increase their sales every year. In this
CSR driven business scenario, it becomes vital to analyse the effect of CSR
investments on the sales of the company.
3. Area of the research
• The research will be conducted in the Gurugram
as it has the target audience and home to many
emerging companies.
• Gurugram has a population of 1,153,000. In
India, Gurugram has the highest professional
workers per square kilometers.
• . Gurugram is the IT hub of north India. A
hotspot for fortune 500 companies.
4. Mode of research
• . A questionnaire will be set in a way that there question
answer will help in analysing, determining the
relationship between the CSR and sales of a company.
Sample size
• We will collect data from around 2000 people and 100
companies. This will give us a good sample size for both
of the target audience. Thus ,we will be able to analyse
and determine the relationship between the CSR and
sales.
5. How the research will be
conducted?
• By going to the people outside the company we shall also ask
them to fill the questionnaire, as the people outside the
company have a different view toward the working of the
company and they surely will provide us with their view.
• Next, we will be targeting the employees of the companies and
ask them to fill the questionnaire. As they will know the
working of the company from inside and they will know if they
are happy with that or not.
• And lastly, we will ask the employers of the company and ask
them to fill the questionnaire. As they take the decision
regarding the company and they will tell us what is the
relationship between CSR and sales.
6. Likely outcome
• Likely outcome can be that there will be a
correlation between Sales and CSR. People may
have a different view towards the relationship
between CSR and sales but may still have a
common view towards welfare of the society.
