Dominic Paione worked on restoring a vintage saxophone over several sessions between September 2011 and March 2012. He met with a project facilitator to learn how to strip down and repad the saxophone. Over multiple sessions, he stripped it down, removed old pads and cork, replaced them, and reassembled the lower and upper stacks. Later meetings focused on detecting and fixing leaks on the new pads. Finally, he stripped it down again for chemical cleaning, polished it, and fully reassembled the saxophone.
