Persuasive Essay
"Your assignment is to write a persuasive essay and present it to the class in a week. You will be graded based on how convincing it is. Today we
will be choosing topics," announced Mr. Bowerbank, my 7th grade English teacher and ruler of classroom 110. My class simultaneously
groaned at the prospect of work. I simply lifted my head with intrigue as it was already May and about time we had our first essay. He then
proceeded to give examples of topics we could choose and gave us some time to think before we had to tell him our topic. My classmates were
already rushing to tell the teacher their idea lest someone else steal it. That meant the usual abortion, death penalty, or drug use topics were out.
I really couldn't think of anything and the teacher was slowly making his way through the remaining students like an executioner beheading
criminals in a line. I have always thought that he would make a marvelous supervillain if he had a curly mustache, a tophat, and a cape.
Eventually my name was called. I slowly dragged myself over to his desk. Even sitting down, he still seemed to tower over me. "What is your
topic Cindy?" As usual in such desperate times, my mind turned to food. "Waffles are better than pancakes." I figured that awaffle was just a
differently shaped pancake with a nicer texture. "Hmm. Excellent topic. I look forward to your essay!" I survived to live yet another day. As I
walked to lunch, I went around and asked everyone the age old question: "Do you like

Persuasive Essay On Women's Rights
Today in our generation, much has changed over the years dealing with women's rights. Women have more rights today than they did back in the
early years. Conflict over social values affected the wider political environment and the readiness of institutions to facilitate the movement for
equality (Chafe, W, 1978). Some people still believe today that women shouldn't have a voice. "Empowering women isn't just the right thing to do,
it's the smart thing to do" (Barack Obama). In this paper it examines the equality in voting, sexual harassment, and women equality in not only the
workplace, but in their everyday lives.
Voting
Voting is one of the most privileged rights anybody can have in America. Early in the years, women didn't have the right to vote. According to the
article Why Women Should Be Included in the Voting Rights Act, women had no right to elect representatives of their choice and they weren't
allowed to be elected. Women are the most under–represented people in the United States. Lydia Taft was the first woman known to legally vote
in America. The townspeople voted to allow her to vote in the meeting of October 20, 1756. The women's right to vote opened the door for many
other inequalities around the world. Susan B. Anthony was the first U.S. woman to vote in an election. She was an American women's rights
activist who played a private role in the women's suffrage movement. She collected anti– slavery petitions at the age of 17 and she also

speech on a unique and different topic that would be appreciated by every listener including their instructors. Before choosing any topic, you must
keep in mind that the subject area of the topic should be the one you are well–informed about and can research it more to cover every dimension
of it. You can also use light stories, illustrations, related examples and quotes as tools to make your speech more effective. A few of the topics
that you can select for making persuasive speeches in college may include:

Persuasive Essay On Online Classes
Most people think highly of online classes; get to work from home, get to work on a flexible schedule, and anyone can do it. Though no one
has heard the cons of taking one. I personally took three semesters of online classes in high school and had a horrible experience. Because of
loose scheduling, poor communication, and the focus needed, online classes are not suitable for procrastinators. To give a better understanding, I
will summarize my experience with the class. Me, being a procrastinator, thought to myself: I'll just work on the weekends and if I don't finish the
class by the end of the school year, I can finish within the first few weeks of summer. This was a god awful plan. Unsurprisingly, close to nothing
was accomplished on the weekends. Friends would ask me to hang out every weekend, and I did every time. Why would I want to work on my
class on the weekend when I could be having fun? I would later regret this decision. On the days I stayed home and could have worked on the
class, I completed nothing. On these days, I would tell myself: I'll just complete what I didn't do this weekend next weekend. This rarely
happened. Thus, the cycle of getting nothing accomplished started. I disregarded my class for most of the first semester of junior year. With only
nine assignments out of eighty finished after the first semester of the school year, I was immensely behind. I told myself to get my act together
during second semester and grind out these two semesters

Persuasive Essay On Homework
Picture this; You just got home from a long hard stressful day of school and now you can relax. Oh wait you can't. This is because you have
more arduous work to do. So you grab a snack sit down and pull out your homework. You then begin to write down everything you have to do on
a list so you have an idea of what you are going to have to do tonight. The list begins with your double sided fifty question math sheet, three page
science document, Social studies notes, followed by a reading SCR, and a writing short story. But wait, it gets worse, on top of all that homework
you have a Math test to study for. Yes this seems very over the top. But it's not, this is what many HMS students struggle with on a daily basis.
Yes homework can be helpful and beneficial for students but is there a point where enough homework is enough. One survey taken throughout
HMS pod 7/8c shows that 65% of students spend 1–3 hours of of their time every day on homework. The same survey shows that 19% of
students spend 4 or more hours on there home work and that only 16% spend less than an hour. Yes an hour may not seem like a lot of time but
the last thing students want to do after 7 hours of work is even more work. Which is also why less than 8% of students do their homework right
when they get home meaning that a whopping more than 92% of students procrastinate when they have homework. These numbers are no
coincidence, many of these students who procrastinate are probably procrastinating simply

Writing A Persuasive Essay
It's a simple enough idea, write an essay about a topic for credit. I'll admit I've written good essays in the past, I just have one issue with this
topic; I am not a persuasive person. I don't have a passion to write about, or an idea in my head. Even if I was passionate about something, I
doubt I have the skill to convince you. My arguments would consist of why I like the topic (or hate it) with an extreme bias, and I doubt that you
would be moved. I couldn't convince you that the long hours of school take a toll on the students. Even if others agree with me, the way I word
things, the lack of passion and my lack of being able to be assertive is the reason why I can't write this essay. First things first, the way I word my
thoughts. Regardless...show more content...
You'll get this definition: "The writer takes a stand on an issue–either "for" or "against"–and builds the strongest possible argument to win over the
reader. In a persuasive essay, it's the writer's job to convince the reader to accept a particular point of view or take a specific action." Along with a
bunch of How Tos. I've have taken a stand that is very passive–aggressive, on why I can't write this essay. I know what you're thinking, this is
ridiculous. Just think of it like this, as you sit there reading me ramble on and give excuses. You're starting to listen. Yes, you have been in my
spot before, lack of passion words don't form right and you're just not clear enough. I see the irony here, this very essay, it contradicts itself. A
persuasive essay on why I can't write a persuasive essay. In the end it's genius, I'm not faking an opinion or sing someone's thoughts. You might
have considered this option before but it seemed too stupid. You looked up prompt after prompt. Nothing. When you finally settle you know it's
not your best work and the grade shows. Or you did it last minute, reworded someone else's essay. You've even considered turning in nothing, I
mean what's the point

Persuasive Essay On Success
Goals, something every human being on this planet has and to reach those goals you must be successful. We set goals to fulfill our purpose in
life, but to do that, you must be successful in meeting and completing those goals. "How Bad Do You Want It?" is a motivational speech that
highlights the requirements of being successful. This speech is important to study because success is so vital and important for our survival as
human beings, it changes the world. No matter your race, religion, culture, etc., you want to be successful and that will have a different definition
for everyone, because only you can define what success means to you. "How Bad Do You Want It" encourages itsaudience to think differently
about wanting to be successful and how to make it happen. This speech holds all the components Aristotle says a speech needs to be effective
which include, persuasive, decorative, and informational, also meaning motivational, actionable, and fun (Morgan, 2016). While watching the
football player perform each exercise repeatedly, I witnessed the effort and dedication he exerted through each set – this commitment resonated
with me, as I am also an athlete who is expected to elicit these qualities. Not only hay, the video serves as confirmation that success is only
attainable for those who want it bad enough and are willing to work for it. Even the background music playing provoked an internal motivation to
be proactive.

Persuasive Essay On Procrastination
Have you ever postponed something super important because you wanted to have fun on a Friday night? Convincing yourself "Oh, I'll just get it
done tomorrow?" This action of putting off a task until the next day or a later time is called procrastination. Someone displaying procrastination
would either be delaying their work for another job that they consider more important or distracting themselves with an activity that is more
interesting. Many people believe that only disorganized or lazy people acquire or pick up this intrusive habit, but I disagree with this
misconception. Productive people, too, occasionally lack the desire to get things done on time. Take for example myself; I have always struggled
with this mannerism and even more...show more content...
The prefrontal cortex is what makes an individual decide to engage in a task. With that in mind, putting work off makes it easier for the limbic
system to dominate and give immediate pleasure feelings which the brain prefers. In other words, people begin to manipulate this perception and
enjoy the short–term effects because it becomes more satisfying not to complete the task. This habit can start to control how or when we
choose to tend to our responsibilities (Spencer). I recognize this feeling on a daily basis. For example, there was a day that I decided I was
going to study in the library as I would hopefully be more productive in that setting. However, as soon as I sat down I began to fiddle with
everything I could get my hands on. From obnoxiously twirling my pencil to watching time–consuming YouTube videos, I wasn 't very
productive, and as a result, I had to cram until two AM for an exam the next day. I had always known thatprocrastination was satisfying, and now
with this new information that confirms that it feeds off of my "good" feelings based on my body 's anatomy. Moving on, I then researched how
to recognize why myself and others procrastinate in the first place. The first reason people procrastinate is that they "become" perfectionists. As
procrastination becomes a more common act, it can also bring about the action of perfectionism. Harold Taylor does a fantastic job at identifying
perfectionism, along with other reasons

Schools have been using the same learning techniques for a long time. Since technology has been evolving, there are changes that have made
schooling harder, and some changes that have made schooling easier. For example, instead of using paper and pencil students now have iPads
and their own laptops to do their school work on. Are these more advanced changes for the better, and make learning more convenient, or are
they unfavorable and make schooling complicated and more problematic? Most examples lead to the conclusion that laptops are more convenient.
for the reason, that they make school work easier and generate easy access to sites for research.
During the beginning of my Highschool career everybody was given an iPad; grade six to grade twelve. However not everybody is fond of the
iPads. Many students, throughout the long school days, have come up to the library to check out a laptop because they either "lost" their iPad, or
they just don't want to use it. Many students have tried to check out laptops even when they have their fully functioning iPads, so now whenever
you want to check out a laptop you have to leave your phone for collaboration. In almost every class teachers use the iPads, but not all teachers
are fond of the iPads either. Some teachers continue to use paper and pencil because it's more of a convenience to them.
Laptops are more convenient for me to use because of the classes I'm currently taking. Such as my CIS comp, CIS world history, and my

Persuasive Essay On Self Care
A crucial step to living free is self–care. So, what is self–care? Self–care is (different for every person)unique on an individual basis. Leonowicz

physical, mental, and spiritual needs. On an emotional standpoint, this may include surrounding yourself with people with healing potential(or
who exude positive energy and thus are helpers at healing the soul . For example, I have friends who are able to change my negative mood to
positive mood in a matter of seconds. Having these friendships are not only therapeutic and but also a necessity to maintaining my mental
wellness. In addition to the emotional aspect, one must take care of his or her physical needs. This is different for each person; some may need to
nourish their bodies with more healthy food and water, whereas others need to be more active and exercise more. From a mental perspective,
an individual could require more academic stimuli to thrive and hence more exposure in a university setting. Also, some may need stress relief
from their jobs and family. There are a number of mindfulness practices such as meditation, yoga and tai chi. On a spiritual level, some people
may find peace in religion and prayer. music to heal ones soul. These are all simple examples of different ways to achieve self–care and peace of

across and giving my reasons on why I feel the way I do about a certain situation. I loved writing persuasive essays because I love to read them as
well. I love how persuasive essays have a call–to–action; giving the readers a chance to do something about the situation. I am all for protest and

Persuasive Essay About Science
Every kid wants to go to the moon one day, or save children and families from blazing fires They all have a dream. We were always asked the
question, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" The stereotypical jobs always came to mind. The thought of being an astronaut,
floating through space and discovering the planets. The thought of being a firefighter and saving the town from disastrous flames. These
were normally the first ones. Kids would always argue over who would be the best police officer. They would run around the playground
playing "Cops and Robbers", testing each other's heroic abilities. Then, there was me. Ever since I was young, I knew I wanted to study
some sort of science. My mom has always worked in the medical field, so as soon as she got home I would ask what she did that day. It was
always different. Some days she would be working with a patient with cancer and others she would be removing an arm or leg due to a
horrific car accident. It all kept me entertained as a child and has since. Although I knew what subject of study I wanted to go into, I never
knew the specific field. There were so many options. You could be a physician, surgeon, or a research scientist. The list goes on and will
continue to grow as new fields are developed. There is one deciding factor for everyone, though. There is always that one moment or event that
caused a feeling of awe. A desire to learn more. This feeling came to me in my sophomore year of high school. Walking

Persuasive Essay On Water Pollution
The one thing humans need on this planet to survive is water. If we need water to survive, then why are polluting it? Most of our nation's
waterways are in terrible condition because of the pollution in the water. Water pollution not only can cause illnesses, but also deaths for humans.
Humans aren't the only thing that water pollution causes harm to. It is also hurting our ecosystem. Humans are the leading cause of most water
pollution. We keep throwing wastes into the water making the water unsafe for humans to drink. Scientists are coming up with ways for humans
to decrease the amount of wastes they are putting in the water. We need to stop polluting the one thing that keeps us alive. Water pollution is a

There is a new chemical that "decreases male fertility, hormones, and testosterone" ("Declining Male Fertility"). The chemicals are in the shape or

sewage pipes leading into the water. This not only harms the water, but also the organisms inside the water. Water pollution isn't just hurting the
environment, but also costing Americans money. Instead of drinking water from the faucets, people are buying more expensive types of bottled
water. Since most people are buying expensive bottles of water, this is going to cost them more money. "Water pollution is costing the
government, facilities, and Americans nearly $4.3 billion" ("Freshwater Pollution Cost $4.3 Billion"). These pollutants can cause harmful effects
on us humans. Water pollution impacts how humans and other living organisms live their life. Most common way humans are effected by water
pollution is through diseases while drinking the water. Scientists have found over "five hundred different types of diseases" that can affect
humans. (Book). These diseases get into the water streams by human and animal wastes. The diseases in the water can often lead to death for
humans. Recent research has shown that that each year

Persuasive Essay On Mental Health Problem
Sometimes, it's not just about being simply sad anymore. As our world becomes a more hectic place to live in, wherein even the simplest
movement can invoke the biggest change and toxicity, it cannot be helped that us, as the human beings who live on this planet, be affected. Our
thoughts go haywire beyond our control, and sometimes we just feel like breaking down. From plain sadness, one's emotions may or may not
lead to depression.
Mental health is a big issue today however, despite it being a big issue that certainly deserves attention, people do not exactly know how to give it
the proper attention and urgency it needs. There is no point in blaming people, though. Indeed mental health is a topic that should be approached
with caution and care.
A prevalent example of a mental health problem is depression. It is a much more overwhelming sadness that oftentimes makes people
uninterested in things and even the activities they used to enjoy the most, feelings of worthlessness, and many more. Reports even say that 1 out
of 5 people are diagnosed with depression.
The struggle with depression is something that should not be taken lightly, and also something a person should not face alone. It is good to reach
out to someone who has depression or has the developing symptoms of depression in order to prevent anything worse from happening to them.
Of course, the challenge to simply approaching a person with depression is just as difficult. You will have to think of the right words

Inclusion
A classroom where everyone has access, is not necessarily a classroom where everyone feels included. In order to create an inclusive environment,
the teacher should assure that all students feel included and understood. Diversity should be valued in the classroom and this starts with the
attitude of the teacher. When students come from a different backgrounds, the teacher should learn about their cultures and integrate that
knowledge into the learning environment. The teacher should also strive to foster acceptance and value in classroom diversity among students.
Resources
Students shouldn't suffer because they are unable to afford basic resources needed for school. If a parent is unable to provide the student with what
they need, I would have available extra supplies including, notebooks, binders, and pens on hand for student use. Additionally, I think it's
important to acknowledge that sometimes the resources students are lacking stretch beyond the walls of the classroom. The problem might be as
simple as not getting breakfast in the morning, or as complicated as not having a place to live. Obviously, as teachers we probably have the ability
to fix the first one (free school breakfast application help), but not the later. We can, however, be empathetic to a student's situation and treat them
with understanding instead of frustration.
Future Classroom
My goal is to make my classroom a learning environment where all students can be

Persuasive Essay On Suicide
In today's society, suicide can be a multifaceted issue, sometimes an act of heroism, selfishness, love, or a brave choice. I am arguing against
suicide because it is not a solution to a problem, it should not even be included as an option. Suicide is simply defined as "the deliberate taking
of one's own life, usually the result of a psychiatric disorder, although sometimes deliberated in the face of life–threatening physical illness,
significant interpersonal stress, or when under the influence of one or more substances of abuse" (Piotrowski). This topic interests me because
of the fact that the rates are increasing year after year and it can happen to someone close to me at any moment. This topic should interest you
too because someone close to you can show warning signs, which can be subtle or more discernible. Also if you are reading this as a parent, you
should know "suicide is the third leading cause of death for those between the ages of ten and fourteen, and it is the second leading cause of death
for those ages fifteen to thirty–four" (Goff). Yet the factors that play into a someone's decision is anything but simple. The most obvious and
severe effect of suicide is the loss of a meaningful, valuable human life. "In the United States in 2013, according to the Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention (CDC), 41,149 individuals committed suicide and approximately 494,169 received medical treatment for self–inflicted
injuries. The World Health Organization (WHO) reported an estimated 800,000 suicides worldwide in 2016, and suicide is the second leading
cause of death among fifteen– to twenty–nine–year–olds worldwide. Women attempt suicide more often than men, but men complete suicide more
often than women because men tend to use more lethal means, such as a firearm" (Piotrowski). With suicide rates on a continuous rise in
America, society must ask what can be done to save lives.
The main argument against suicide is that it is selfish, which is true. By you killing yourself, it causes a lot of pain to those left behind, like
your family, loved ones, friends, etc. They tend to blame themselves for your death. Even if you feel like nobody in the whole world cares about
you, you are wrong. When you think

Persuasive Essay On Change In Life
Life is a whirlwind of events, situations, and lessons all wrapped into one. There is no one way to live life correctly or to the greatest ability
because each individual has a different perception of it. Throughout the whirlwind, some of the lessons learned may benefit or harm us but at the
end of the day, life waits for none. Deciding to make a change in life can be one of the hardest yet most fulfilling things a person can do.
Whether a life change is occurring because one wants to be healthier, or one wants to be more positive, the act can be intimidating at first.
Although there are different ways to go about it, there are at least four key steps to achieving and making a successful lifestyle change and shift.
The steps include acknowledging the problem and deciding on a new lifestyle or what change to make, thoroughly researching the lifestyle and
what it takes to attain it, giving a layout or making a plan of the new lifestyle, and lastly having a self–reward system for the successful transition.
As a person it can be hard to admit when there is a problem or to even acknowledge when there is a flaw within. Pride can be a preventative
factor in making a lifestyle change but can be rewarding when overcame. The first step towards change is accepting one needs to be made. The
solution lies within and finding it is as simple as self–realization of an issue. Being aware of the obstacles that hinder growth into a new lifestyle
allows the opportunity to make the necessary changes, ultimately actuating the entire life changing process. Following the admission of a
problem, one must decide what to do about it and what type of life to transition to. Whether the goal is to become more positive, lose weight, get
better grades, or even have a better sleep schedule, the first step to achieving it is deciding to make the change. After finally making the decision
to make a change within life, the journey continues on. When learning something new in class time is spent studying and researching the topic in
order to further understand and comprehend it; the same logic is applied to a lifestyle change in the sense that the research done has to be even
more thorough. Some situations may require tiny changes over time

Persuasive Essay

  • 1. Persuasive Essay "Your assignment is to write a persuasive essay and present it to the class in a week. You will be graded based on how convincing it is. Today we will be choosing topics," announced Mr. Bowerbank, my 7th grade English teacher and ruler of classroom 110. My class simultaneously groaned at the prospect of work. I simply lifted my head with intrigue as it was already May and about time we had our first essay. He then proceeded to give examples of topics we could choose and gave us some time to think before we had to tell him our topic. My classmates were already rushing to tell the teacher their idea lest someone else steal it. That meant the usual abortion, death penalty, or drug use topics were out. I really couldn't think of anything and the teacher was slowly making his way through the remaining students like an executioner beheading criminals in a line. I have always thought that he would make a marvelous supervillain if he had a curly mustache, a tophat, and a cape. Eventually my name was called. I slowly dragged myself over to his desk. Even sitting down, he still seemed to tower over me. "What is your topic Cindy?" As usual in such desperate times, my mind turned to food. "Waffles are better than pancakes." I figured that awaffle was just a differently shaped pancake with a nicer texture. "Hmm. Excellent topic. I look forward to your essay!" I survived to live yet another day. As I walked to lunch, I went around and asked everyone the age old question: "Do you like Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 3. Persuasive Essay On Women's Rights Today in our generation, much has changed over the years dealing with women's rights. Women have more rights today than they did back in the early years. Conflict over social values affected the wider political environment and the readiness of institutions to facilitate the movement for equality (Chafe, W, 1978). Some people still believe today that women shouldn't have a voice. "Empowering women isn't just the right thing to do, it's the smart thing to do" (Barack Obama). In this paper it examines the equality in voting, sexual harassment, and women equality in not only the workplace, but in their everyday lives. Voting Voting is one of the most privileged rights anybody can have in America. Early in the years, women didn't have the right to vote. According to the article Why Women Should Be Included in the Voting Rights Act, women had no right to elect representatives of their choice and they weren't allowed to be elected. Women are the most under–represented people in the United States. Lydia Taft was the first woman known to legally vote in America. The townspeople voted to allow her to vote in the meeting of October 20, 1756. The women's right to vote opened the door for many other inequalities around the world. Susan B. Anthony was the first U.S. woman to vote in an election. She was an American women's rights activist who played a private role in the women's suffrage movement. She collected anti– slavery petitions at the age of 17 and she also Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 6. Persuasive Essay On Online Classes Most people think highly of online classes; get to work from home, get to work on a flexible schedule, and anyone can do it. Though no one has heard the cons of taking one. I personally took three semesters of online classes in high school and had a horrible experience. Because of loose scheduling, poor communication, and the focus needed, online classes are not suitable for procrastinators. To give a better understanding, I will summarize my experience with the class. Me, being a procrastinator, thought to myself: I'll just work on the weekends and if I don't finish the class by the end of the school year, I can finish within the first few weeks of summer. This was a god awful plan. Unsurprisingly, close to nothing was accomplished on the weekends. Friends would ask me to hang out every weekend, and I did every time. Why would I want to work on my class on the weekend when I could be having fun? I would later regret this decision. On the days I stayed home and could have worked on the class, I completed nothing. On these days, I would tell myself: I'll just complete what I didn't do this weekend next weekend. This rarely happened. Thus, the cycle of getting nothing accomplished started. I disregarded my class for most of the first semester of junior year. With only nine assignments out of eighty finished after the first semester of the school year, I was immensely behind. I told myself to get my act together during second semester and grind out these two semesters Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Persuasive Essay On Homework Picture this; You just got home from a long hard stressful day of school and now you can relax. Oh wait you can't. This is because you have more arduous work to do. So you grab a snack sit down and pull out your homework. You then begin to write down everything you have to do on a list so you have an idea of what you are going to have to do tonight. The list begins with your double sided fifty question math sheet, three page science document, Social studies notes, followed by a reading SCR, and a writing short story. But wait, it gets worse, on top of all that homework you have a Math test to study for. Yes this seems very over the top. But it's not, this is what many HMS students struggle with on a daily basis. Yes homework can be helpful and beneficial for students but is there a point where enough homework is enough. One survey taken throughout HMS pod 7/8c shows that 65% of students spend 1–3 hours of of their time every day on homework. The same survey shows that 19% of students spend 4 or more hours on there home work and that only 16% spend less than an hour. Yes an hour may not seem like a lot of time but the last thing students want to do after 7 hours of work is even more work. Which is also why less than 8% of students do their homework right when they get home meaning that a whopping more than 92% of students procrastinate when they have homework. These numbers are no coincidence, many of these students who procrastinate are probably procrastinating simply Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Writing A Persuasive Essay It's a simple enough idea, write an essay about a topic for credit. I'll admit I've written good essays in the past, I just have one issue with this topic; I am not a persuasive person. I don't have a passion to write about, or an idea in my head. Even if I was passionate about something, I doubt I have the skill to convince you. My arguments would consist of why I like the topic (or hate it) with an extreme bias, and I doubt that you would be moved. I couldn't convince you that the long hours of school take a toll on the students. Even if others agree with me, the way I word things, the lack of passion and my lack of being able to be assertive is the reason why I can't write this essay. First things first, the way I word my thoughts. Regardless...show more content... You'll get this definition: "The writer takes a stand on an issue–either "for" or "against"–and builds the strongest possible argument to win over the reader. In a persuasive essay, it's the writer's job to convince the reader to accept a particular point of view or take a specific action." Along with a bunch of How Tos. I've have taken a stand that is very passive–aggressive, on why I can't write this essay. I know what you're thinking, this is ridiculous. Just think of it like this, as you sit there reading me ramble on and give excuses. You're starting to listen. Yes, you have been in my spot before, lack of passion words don't form right and you're just not clear enough. I see the irony here, this very essay, it contradicts itself. A persuasive essay on why I can't write a persuasive essay. In the end it's genius, I'm not faking an opinion or sing someone's thoughts. You might have considered this option before but it seemed too stupid. You looked up prompt after prompt. Nothing. When you finally settle you know it's not your best work and the grade shows. Or you did it last minute, reworded someone else's essay. You've even considered turning in nothing, I mean what's the point Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Persuasive Essay On Success Goals, something every human being on this planet has and to reach those goals you must be successful. We set goals to fulfill our purpose in life, but to do that, you must be successful in meeting and completing those goals. "How Bad Do You Want It?" is a motivational speech that highlights the requirements of being successful. This speech is important to study because success is so vital and important for our survival as human beings, it changes the world. No matter your race, religion, culture, etc., you want to be successful and that will have a different definition for everyone, because only you can define what success means to you. "How Bad Do You Want It" encourages itsaudience to think differently about wanting to be successful and how to make it happen. This speech holds all the components Aristotle says a speech needs to be effective which include, persuasive, decorative, and informational, also meaning motivational, actionable, and fun (Morgan, 2016). While watching the football player perform each exercise repeatedly, I witnessed the effort and dedication he exerted through each set – this commitment resonated with me, as I am also an athlete who is expected to elicit these qualities. Not only hay, the video serves as confirmation that success is only attainable for those who want it bad enough and are willing to work for it. Even the background music playing provoked an internal motivation to be proactive. By delivering Eric Thomas's speech in his unique hip Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Persuasive Essay On Procrastination Have you ever postponed something super important because you wanted to have fun on a Friday night? Convincing yourself "Oh, I'll just get it done tomorrow?" This action of putting off a task until the next day or a later time is called procrastination. Someone displaying procrastination would either be delaying their work for another job that they consider more important or distracting themselves with an activity that is more interesting. Many people believe that only disorganized or lazy people acquire or pick up this intrusive habit, but I disagree with this misconception. Productive people, too, occasionally lack the desire to get things done on time. Take for example myself; I have always struggled with this mannerism and even more...show more content... The prefrontal cortex is what makes an individual decide to engage in a task. With that in mind, putting work off makes it easier for the limbic system to dominate and give immediate pleasure feelings which the brain prefers. In other words, people begin to manipulate this perception and enjoy the short–term effects because it becomes more satisfying not to complete the task. This habit can start to control how or when we choose to tend to our responsibilities (Spencer). I recognize this feeling on a daily basis. For example, there was a day that I decided I was going to study in the library as I would hopefully be more productive in that setting. However, as soon as I sat down I began to fiddle with everything I could get my hands on. From obnoxiously twirling my pencil to watching time–consuming YouTube videos, I wasn 't very productive, and as a result, I had to cram until two AM for an exam the next day. I had always known thatprocrastination was satisfying, and now with this new information that confirms that it feeds off of my "good" feelings based on my body 's anatomy. Moving on, I then researched how to recognize why myself and others procrastinate in the first place. The first reason people procrastinate is that they "become" perfectionists. As procrastination becomes a more common act, it can also bring about the action of perfectionism. Harold Taylor does a fantastic job at identifying perfectionism, along with other reasons Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Persuasive Essay Schools have been using the same learning techniques for a long time. Since technology has been evolving, there are changes that have made schooling harder, and some changes that have made schooling easier. For example, instead of using paper and pencil students now have iPads and their own laptops to do their school work on. Are these more advanced changes for the better, and make learning more convenient, or are they unfavorable and make schooling complicated and more problematic? Most examples lead to the conclusion that laptops are more convenient. for the reason, that they make school work easier and generate easy access to sites for research. During the beginning of my Highschool career everybody was given an iPad; grade six to grade twelve. However not everybody is fond of the iPads. Many students, throughout the long school days, have come up to the library to check out a laptop because they either "lost" their iPad, or they just don't want to use it. Many students have tried to check out laptops even when they have their fully functioning iPads, so now whenever you want to check out a laptop you have to leave your phone for collaboration. In almost every class teachers use the iPads, but not all teachers are fond of the iPads either. Some teachers continue to use paper and pencil because it's more of a convenience to them. Laptops are more convenient for me to use because of the classes I'm currently taking. Such as my CIS comp, CIS world history, and my Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Persuasive Essay On Self Care A crucial step to living free is self–care. So, what is self–care? Self–care is (different for every person)unique on an individual basis. Leonowicz stated, "With this in mind, there cannot be one blanket strategy for practicing self–care (Leonowicz, 2)."One must feed his or her emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual needs. On an emotional standpoint, this may include surrounding yourself with people with healing potential(or who exude positive energy and thus are helpers at healing the soul . For example, I have friends who are able to change my negative mood to positive mood in a matter of seconds. Having these friendships are not only therapeutic and but also a necessity to maintaining my mental wellness. In addition to the emotional aspect, one must take care of his or her physical needs. This is different for each person; some may need to nourish their bodies with more healthy food and water, whereas others need to be more active and exercise more. From a mental perspective, an individual could require more academic stimuli to thrive and hence more exposure in a university setting. Also, some may need stress relief from their jobs and family. There are a number of mindfulness practices such as meditation, yoga and tai chi. On a spiritual level, some people may find peace in religion and prayer. music to heal ones soul. These are all simple examples of different ways to achieve self–care and peace of mind. After enumerating the aforementioned aspects of self–care, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Persuasive Essays : Persuasive Essay When I began this class, I loved to write persuasive essays. I loved to write about my own opinions and I was quite good at convincing people to agree with my stand points. To convince others to agree on my point of view was an extraordinary feeling. I am very good at getting my point across and giving my reasons on why I feel the way I do about a certain situation. I loved writing persuasive essays because I love to read them as well. I love how persuasive essays have a call–to–action; giving the readers a chance to do something about the situation. I am all for protest and rights for others, if I believe someone is wrong I will stand my ground and prove that it is wrong. I loved to write persuasive essays because, I am a persuasive person in life. My opinions matter just as much as everyone else. Writing persuasive essays, is like writing from the soul. To be able to put my all into a piece and show why it means so much to me. By taking this class, I have come to enjoy the research paper. I feel now as I writer I still love persuasive writing; just know I include research to help strengthen my opinions. I am an organized writer as well as a descriptive writer, being able to write things in logical order and having things well explained for a reader. I now understand the meaning and how to write about things I may not always agree with. Being able to describe my writing, giving more detail is something taking this class has taught me. • 14. Persuasive Essay About Science Every kid wants to go to the moon one day, or save children and families from blazing fires They all have a dream. We were always asked the question, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" The stereotypical jobs always came to mind. The thought of being an astronaut, floating through space and discovering the planets. The thought of being a firefighter and saving the town from disastrous flames. These were normally the first ones. Kids would always argue over who would be the best police officer. They would run around the playground playing "Cops and Robbers", testing each other's heroic abilities. Then, there was me. Ever since I was young, I knew I wanted to study some sort of science. My mom has always worked in the medical field, so as soon as she got home I would ask what she did that day. It was always different. Some days she would be working with a patient with cancer and others she would be removing an arm or leg due to a horrific car accident. It all kept me entertained as a child and has since. Although I knew what subject of study I wanted to go into, I never knew the specific field. There were so many options. You could be a physician, surgeon, or a research scientist. • 15. Persuasive Essay On Water Pollution The one thing humans need on this planet to survive is water. If we need water to survive, then why are polluting it? Most of our nation's waterways are in terrible condition because of the pollution in the water. Water pollution not only can cause illnesses, but also deaths for humans. Humans aren't the only thing that water pollution causes harm to. It is also hurting our ecosystem. Humans are the leading cause of most water pollution. We keep throwing wastes into the water making the water unsafe for humans to drink. Scientists are coming up with ways for humans to decrease the amount of wastes they are putting in the water. We need to stop polluting the one thing that keeps us alive. Water pollution is a change or decrease in water...show more content... There is a new chemical that "decreases male fertility, hormones, and testosterone" ("Declining Male Fertility"). The chemicals are in the shape or form of medicine and pesticides and can affect fish and other species in the water. Some research has shown that these "chemicals make male fish believe they are turning into females which is declining the male fertility in the water. These chemicals are getting in the water through the sewage pipes leading into the water. This not only harms the water, but also the organisms inside the water. Water pollution isn't just hurting the environment, but also costing Americans money. Instead of drinking water from the faucets, people are buying more expensive types of bottled water. Since most people are buying expensive bottles of water, this is going to cost them more money. "Water pollution is costing the government, facilities, and Americans nearly $4.3 billion" ("Freshwater Pollution Cost $4.3 Billion"). These pollutants can cause harmful effects on us humans. Water pollution impacts how humans and other living organisms live their life. Most common way humans are effected by water pollution is through diseases while drinking the water. Scientists have found over "five hundred different types of diseases" that can affect humans. (Book). These diseases get into the water streams by human and animal wastes. The diseases in the water can often lead to death for humans. Recent research has shown that that each year Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 16. Persuasive Essay On Mental Health Problem Sometimes, it's not just about being simply sad anymore. As our world becomes a more hectic place to live in, wherein even the simplest movement can invoke the biggest change and toxicity, it cannot be helped that us, as the human beings who live on this planet, be affected. Our thoughts go haywire beyond our control, and sometimes we just feel like breaking down. From plain sadness, one's emotions may or may not lead to depression. Mental health is a big issue today however, despite it being a big issue that certainly deserves attention, people do not exactly know how to give it the proper attention and urgency it needs. There is no point in blaming people, though. Indeed mental health is a topic that should be approached with caution and care. A prevalent example of a mental health problem is depression. It is a much more overwhelming sadness that oftentimes makes people uninterested in things and even the activities they used to enjoy the most, feelings of worthlessness, and many more. Reports even say that 1 out of 5 people are diagnosed with depression. The struggle with depression is something that should not be taken lightly, and also something a person should not face alone. It is good to reach out to someone who has depression or has the developing symptoms of depression in order to prevent anything worse from happening to them. Of course, the challenge to simply approaching a person with depression is just as difficult. You will have to think of the right words Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. Persuasive Essay On The Importance Of Education A high–quality and accessible education is important for all children. Through education, children gain knowledge and skills that can lead to greater opportunities and upward mobility later in life. Education has [Passive] long enabled people to go further than they ever thought possible; to explore new ideas and to achieve new goals. Fostering knowledge and creativity enables children to forge their own paths in life. As an educator, it is my greatest desire to guide children on their educational journeys in a meaningful way. Inclusion A classroom where everyone has access, is not necessarily a classroom where everyone feels included. In order to create an inclusive environment, the teacher should assure that all students feel included and understood. Diversity should be valued in the classroom and this starts with the attitude of the teacher. When students come from a different backgrounds, the teacher should learn about their cultures and integrate that knowledge into the learning environment. The teacher should also strive to foster acceptance and value in classroom diversity among students. Resources Students shouldn't suffer because they are unable to afford basic resources needed for school. If a parent is unable to provide the student with what they need, I would have available extra supplies including, notebooks, binders, and pens on hand for student use. Additionally, I think it's important to acknowledge that sometimes the resources students are lacking stretch beyond the walls of the classroom. The problem might be as simple as not getting breakfast in the morning, or as complicated as not having a place to live. Obviously, as teachers we probably have the ability to fix the first one (free school breakfast application help), but not the later. We can, however, be empathetic to a student's situation and treat them with understanding instead of frustration. Future Classroom My goal is to make my classroom a learning environment where all students can be

  • 19. Persuasive Essay On Suicide In today's society, suicide can be a multifaceted issue, sometimes an act of heroism, selfishness, love, or a brave choice. I am arguing against suicide because it is not a solution to a problem, it should not even be included as an option. Suicide is simply defined as "the deliberate taking of one's own life, usually the result of a psychiatric disorder, although sometimes deliberated in the face of life–threatening physical illness, significant interpersonal stress, or when under the influence of one or more substances of abuse" (Piotrowski). This topic interests me because of the fact that the rates are increasing year after year and it can happen to someone close to me at any moment. This topic should interest you too because someone close to you can show warning signs, which can be subtle or more discernible. Also if you are reading this as a parent, you should know "suicide is the third leading cause of death for those between the ages of ten and fourteen, and it is the second leading cause of death for those ages fifteen to thirty–four" (Goff). Yet the factors that play into a someone's decision is anything but simple. The most obvious and severe effect of suicide is the loss of a meaningful, valuable human life. "In the United States in 2013, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 41,149 individuals committed suicide and approximately 494,169 received medical treatment for self–inflicted injuries. The World Health Organization (WHO) reported an estimated 800,000 suicides worldwide in 2016, and suicide is the second leading cause of death among fifteen– to twenty–nine–year–olds worldwide. Women attempt suicide more often than men, but men complete suicide more often than women because men tend to use more lethal means, such as a firearm" (Piotrowski). With suicide rates on a continuous rise in America, society must ask what can be done to save lives. The main argument against suicide is that it is selfish, which is true. By you killing yourself, it causes a lot of pain to those left behind, like your family, loved ones, friends, etc. They tend to blame themselves for your death. Even if you feel like nobody in the whole world cares about you, you are wrong. When you think Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 21. Persuasive Essay On Change In Life Life is a whirlwind of events, situations, and lessons all wrapped into one. There is no one way to live life correctly or to the greatest ability because each individual has a different perception of it. Throughout the whirlwind, some of the lessons learned may benefit or harm us but at the end of the day, life waits for none. The steps include acknowledging the problem and deciding on a new lifestyle or what change to make, thoroughly researching the lifestyle and what it takes to attain it, giving a layout or making a plan of the new lifestyle, and lastly having a self–reward system for the successful transition. As a person it can be hard to admit when there is a problem or to even acknowledge when there is a flaw within. Pride can be a preventative factor in making a lifestyle change but can be rewarding when overcame. The first step towards change is accepting one needs to be made. The solution lies within and finding it is as simple as self–realization of an issue. Being aware of the obstacles that hinder growth into a new lifestyle allows the opportunity to make the necessary changes, ultimately actuating the entire life changing process. Following the admission of a problem, one must decide what to do about it and what type of life to transition to. Whether the goal is to become more positive, lose weight, get better grades, or even have a better sleep schedule, the first step to achieving it is deciding to make the change. After finally making the decision to make a change within life, the journey continues on. When learning something new in class time is spent studying and researching the topic in order to further understand and comprehend it; the same logic is applied to a lifestyle change in the sense that the research done has to be even more thorough. Some situations may require tiny changes over time Get more content on HelpWriting.net
