Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgment
that something else is more important than fear…Ambrose

2020 will be nothing short of an emotional roller coaster. A worldwide health
emergency has gripped the whole planet, necessitating a new level of
comprehension and damage management. The human race first recognised that this
is something special in India in March 2020. People from various professions and
locations around the nation had to cope with it. Some people learned that there
would be no source of income during the Lockdown time, while others discovered
alternative means of making a living, and IT experts turned to WFH. Some people,
like doctors and frontline workers, were forced to face the situation and take the
wheel while the others tried to figure it out. We all seen lockdowns, followed by
UNLOCK. one, two, and so on Each of us has undoubtedly gone through a variety of
situations throughout this stage of life. If I think back on the past seven months,
there are numerous incidents that have led me to believe that we suffer more in our
minds than in reality and that we have the ability to recover. Resilience is what is
most required.

2. When Covid-19 entered India, there was cause for alarm, but the worry became more
pronounced when we learned about the first case in Pune. Lockdown was
implemented, offices were closed, and none of us had the courage to leave. As the
days went by, incidents in our neighbourhood made us more anxious. Citing my own
experience, when I initially learned that a case had been discovered in my
neighbourhood, I began to worry that the virus had spread there and that we would
be impacted. We spent a restless night wondering what would happen next because
we soon learned of a case in our own building. Little did we realise that this was just
the beginning. Days went by, but nothing changed—rather, it became worse. We
could only view news reports connected to COVID-19 on the news networks. Then,
on a beautiful day, a sick person arrived at my house. As a species, humans go
through three stages: concern, denial, and acceptance. During the denial stage, we
refuse to recognise that anything may go wrong with us. We completed everything,
and the patient's home test for Covid-19 was positive.

The family was experiencing a range of emotions. We were all stuck, but then I
understood how crucial it is to recover! We made the decision to get through this as
a family while sitting down. We made sure the patient's morale was kept good by
having video conversations, watching motivating movies, and listening to music.
Fortunately, the rest of us escaped the infection.
During the 17-day quarantine period, we came to the realisation that having the
drive to recover and resume regular life may go a long way. One of my close friends
who was a doctor treating Covid 19 patients had the illness, battled it, and is still
providing care to patients now. Families who lost loved ones are going through pain
that none of us can imagine, but what matters is that one day, they too rose up and
participated.

Although life has generally improved and many have begun to leave, it is now
returning to its previous state. We will all need to make changes and contribute
eventually.
Hopefully, things will get better over the next few days and we'll go back to our
previous, mask-free, fearless way of life. The recollections of how difficult those times
were and how effectively we handled them will be what we have in the future.
