2. This survey shows the outcomes of National Arts Participation in relation to how
Australia engaged with arts in 2016 in a variety of activities and events such as arts
exhibitions, festivals, cultural development activities and connecting to community
with arts.
This presentation will briefly discuss how arts in contemporary Australia has impacted
on values, attitudes and perspectives and how it is related to arts education.
3. The graph in the next slide shows one result of the impacts of arts in contemporary
Australia as taken from the National Arts Participation Survey 2017. The major
impacts of arts are on stimulating the mind, ability to express, think creatively and
develop new ideas, which are critical elements of learning arts as well as other
learning areas. Particularly it shows the role of arts in shaping and expressing
Australian identity has increased the most out of the other factors. There is a little
decrease in child development but it is still in a high range. The impacts of arts are
almost evenly spread over many areas. Overall, It is showing the positive influences of
arts, have increased in Australian everyday lives and their communities.
