12. Promote Implementation: Indicators &
Capacity Development
Indicators
• Applying input and
process indicators
• Identifying methodologies
for data
production/collection
• Developing impact
indicators and finalising
framework
• Indicator framework On-
line tool, with pilot studies
Capacity
Development
• Taking stock of capacity
development initiatives and
frameworks
• Defining scope and target(s)
groups
• Creating modules and
testing them in workshops
• On-line tool, pool of
trainers, “flagship”report on
capacity development
Working Group 1: Working Group 2:
13. • The spirit of voluntarism and in-kind contributions will remain a
critical pillar of the WGI
• The promotion of the Implementation of the Principles will
require more resources as compared to developing tools
• Develop resource mobilisation strategy! Act on it!
– Expand existing partnership engagement with funders
– Diversify pool of funding by adding new funding partners, such as
through leveraging the King Hassan II Water Prize, awarded to OECD
– Explore possibilities of “basket funding” and where funding can flow in
different directions
– WGI Steering Committee plays a key role, along with interested
members and supported by OECD Secretariat
point 3: More resources are needed?
14. • The OECD Water Governance Initiative is highly relevant and
delivers
• The core focus for 2019-2021 is to support the
implementation of Principles (with related tools)
• Additional resource mobilisation is required to deliver on
work plan in full
• Strength of WGI is its collective approach
– The afternoon session will tease out more in detail the aim and work
of the Working Groups, as well as how members would like to
contribute
