3. TRAINING
Training is the act of providing
information and instruction to
someone. It is the act of
teaching and or developing
skills, knowledge, etc. in a
participant. The purpose of
training is to improve one’s
capability, capacity, productivity
and performance.
4. SEMINAR
A seminar has a structure that is
more like a lecture or classroom
style of learning. In this respect, the
lecturer, speaker or instructor gives a
speech or shares information with
the audience, similar to how a
teacher lectures a classroom full of
children. Seminars tend to have
much larger audiences because it
simply consists of an expert sharing
information with the audience on a
specific topic.
5. WORKSHOP
A workshop refers to a seminar,
discussion group, or the like, that
is used to exchange the ideas,
demonstration about any
particular subject. It emphasizes
problem-solving, hands-on
training, and requires the
involvement of the participants.
9. SOCRATIC
The Socratic method uses
questions to examine the
values, principles, and
beliefs of students.
Through questioning, the
participants strive first to
identify and then to
defend their moral
intuitions about the world
which undergird their
ways of life.
10. PEER
TEACHING
Peer teaching occurs when
participants, by design,
teach other participants.
Peer teaching involves one
or more participants
teaching other
participants in a particular
topic or area and builds
on the belief that “to
teach is to learn twice”

TECHNOLOGY
Today, facilitators realize
that computer literacy is
an important part of
participants education.
Integrating technology
into a
training/workshop/semina
r when appropriate is
proving to be valuable for
enhancing and extending
the learning experience of
the participants.
13. CASE METHOD
The case method is an
instructional strategy that
engages participants in
active discussion about
issues and problems
inherent in practical
application. It can
highlight fundamental
dilemmas or critical issues
and provide a format for
role playing ambiguous or
controversial scenarios.
