3. Introduction To energy
 What is energy ?
 In simple words, energy is the capacity to do day-to-day work. Don’t you
? It’s a power which enables us to perform work.

4. SOURCES OF ENERGY
 The energy which we are continuously using in LPU Hostels is the ELECTRICAL
ONE.
 There are mainly two type of resources that we are currently using in LPU. And
these are:-
 Renewable resources- that are those resources which can be used repeatedly and
replaced naturally. In LPU we are using solar power plant as a renewable source of
energy
 Non-Renewable Resources- It’s a natural resource that is used up faster than it can be
made by nature. It cannot be produced, grown or generated on a scale which
can sustain how quickly it is being consumed. And here the source which we are using is
through the power supply form Punjab Government.

5. Renewable Source Of Energy in LPU
Solar Power Plant
 Solar Power in LPU is placed at the terrace
of 38-block In LPU.
 There are about 396 solar panels
 It generates 400-500 units of energy per
day and 1.5 approx units per year.
 And it provides energy to Block
25,27,38,40,41.

6. ENERGY CONSUMPTION
 WHAT IS ENERGY CONSUMPTION ? Its’ nothing
but the usage of energy for fulfilling our need.
 Here, we are consuming energy mainly in the
form of electrical energy.
 It is used for-
 Charging our electronic gadgets.
 The fan the ac which we use on the daily basis
in summers.
 The tube light or in CFLs.

7. Wastage Of Electric
Energy At LPU
Because of our carelessness ,a huge amount of
energy is getting wasted in just few seconds. So,
let us see how energy is being getting wasted in
LPU.
• Leaving electrical and electronic appliances
on standby mode: Many students leave the
appliances when not in use.
• The traditional bulbs and tube-lights
consume alight amount of energy and
makes a contribution of almost 10-15% in
the electrical bill.
• Especially in BH-8,due to connection errors,
lots of energy is getting wasted.

8. Tips To conserve
Electric Energy
There are several ways through which we can conserve
electricity .And here are some of the ways that can help
us to conserve it.
 The first step that we have to do is that to get
ourselves active in this case.
 Using eco friendly things to conserve energy.
 Use renewable sources of energy.
 Using CFLs instead of ordinary bulbs because its not
only helps to conserve electrical energy but also it’s
also makes us relief from exposing our eyes to that
light.

can be taken
 Conducting several programs or
events to make aware people of
energy conservations.
 Conducting surveys will be the best
way to save energy more
effectively because it will not only
enhances their knowledge but also
imparts a lot our knowledge.
 Implementing several posters and
slogans.
 Publishing several ads to promote
energy conservation

generate renewable energy such as
using more solar panels to get
lightened.
 Also, energy can be generated by
using solid waste. And the technique
is known as solid waste management
which not only helps to control over
the pollution. But to generate
electrical energy.

An old and wise man’s saying describes it in this way- The earth, the water, the air
and all types of energy that we have are not only the gift of our GOD and
to us but it’s a loan to us from our offerings. SO STOP WASTING ENERGY AND
STARTS SAVING ENERGY. With only small tips, bit efforts, awareness can
a lot to the conservation of energy.
