Dear colleagues!
We present you the basic element of the Modular engineering platform – the A1 controller.
25-years experience opened a new prospect to develop this technology using one controller, where our competi-
tors are still using dozens or even hundreds of different devices. In addition to usability and ease of sale (customer
quickservices, easy mastering, availability, etc.), controller A1 has significant economical advantages.
ONE-controller-technology, instead of many ones, allows:
- Us: 1. To reduce manufacturing cost;
2. To reduce equipment delivery time;
3. To provide additional discounts in the case of firmware purchasing;
- Our partners: 4. To gain more, using available discounts;
- Our customers: 5. To save on purchasing and maintenance of Octagram systems.
One of relevant innovative advantage in our technology is the ability of recording to A1 controller at any time,
which allows us to provide customer with special discount for the controller storage: with each passing day from
purchasing date, microprogram cost can be reduced by 0.5%. The maximum discount is about 45%. Herewith, the
usual dealer discounts and large order discounts can be saved.
To clarify this fact, let us study some examples about how is the income of A1, in the case of preliminary purchasing.
Situation 1. A dealer (trading house, installer … etc.), who purchased 10 A1 controllers with 30% discount by $875
(price of one controller = $125 x 0.7 = $ 87.5) for one of his customers. Documents preparation, shipping and de-
livery time of A1 was about 30 days; moreover installation and starting-up have been continuing for 60 additional
days. During system starting-up, dealer purchased microprograms for 10 lifts. He has received its, via email, at the
payment day. Every day, microprogram discount was increasing; so that after 90 days, for one microprgram of the
lift L64, this discount became about $184.59 ($ 586 x 0.7x 0.005 x 90); which could enable the dealer to save about
$ 1846 additionally, i.e. more than twice of spending money buying A1.
Situation 2. Similarly to situation 1, but, in this case end-user have directly ordered 10 lifts microprograms in com-
pany “Octagram”. Octagram managers have contacted with dealer, for whom 10 controllers have been numbered
and specified delivery time to end-user, as a result company “octagram” provided the last one with a discount about
$ 882 ($ 586 x 0.7 x 0.005 x 43 x 10). Hence, a sum of 882$ was presented to dealer as a purchase credit. Thus, the
dealer can freely of charge receive the next 10 controllers.
Situation 3. In situation 2, the dealer did not want to use credit and received a commission of $750 (commission
coefficient is about 0.85 of the discount or credit).
These examples show that the storage of A1 controller in the stock is more beneficial. Thus, using shelved order
procedure of firmwares, dealer can receive additional income in form of discounts, credits or commissions.

Modular Engineering System in modern building
TENDENCY AND REALITY
Today, smart building technology become
on-trend and desired one.
Often, engineering solutions are designed
using systems of different manufacturers,
and sometimes using several subsystems
of the same manufacturer. In the latter
case, solution will be more reliable and
easier to operate. So, the number of
modules plays a key role in determining
the quality of such system: the lesser
different modules you use, the more
efficient and reliable system you obtain!
The main idea of Octagram approach is
based on the execution of all tasks by
one platform - controller with necessary
substitutable software. Thus, the platform
A1 can be used for any facility with any
size and complexity.
In our technology, there is no need to
search and match equipment, one can
determine necessary functions, and the
compatible software can be directly
ordered from the catalog; and as a rule,
only the selected functions should be paid.
Thus, in practice, our customers can
combine modern tendency, real benefits
and security and automation systems
reliability.
INNOVATIONS FOR YOUR SAFETY AND CONVENIENCE
Using one-platform A1 for all tasks can be established owing to innovative system of controller interaction with
information or executive devices via addressable module / micro module (patents RU 8501,0 US 9,146,552 B2).
Due to this technology, any peripheral equipment, regardless of its manufacturer, can be connected.
Due to the modular structure, the platform A1 has all known security systems functions while remaining simple to
operate. This system can be sold and installed only in required configuration.
The adjusting mechanism of controller built-in responses enables to fitting of system operation algorithm according
to facility’s specificity and security service standards.
Modern building is a complex consisting of many systems, where an access control system, security and
fire alarm systems, engineering equipment management and other ones can exist.
To ensure the comfort and safety of people inside the building, and protect the environment from
possible dangers, a well-coordinated work of these systems becomes very necessary.
Many years experience showed that complex with built-on-one-platform systems for engineering
equipment control and security are more reliable and easier to operate.
That’s why many customers choose Modular Engineering Platform (MEP) «Octagram» for their building
security systems
EXPLOITATION SIMPLICITY AND CLEARNESS
The Octagram Flex software has a user-friendly interface that allows to work without special engineering
background or additional training.
The information about the current events and the system state can be appropriately displayed on monitors, and
duplicated on the control panels, which have visual assembly of buttons and keys.
Traditionally, special attention is devoted to system protection from disruption attempts, and this don’t only
concern data encryption, individual project licensing; but also access differentiation to systems’ settings,
administration and monitoring for various operators groups.
UNIVERSALITY, SCALABILITY AND DISTRIBUTABILITY
The Octagram Flex software structure equally ensures efficient operation of small and large systems. Entire system
administration can be performed using a single console. Thus, changing small facility by a large one, or adding some
new security features don’t require any software modifications and additional habituation with new interface.
The Octagram system can be built on one central server or on, territorially distributed, several ones. In the latter
case, it is possible to monitor systems security state and life-support in largely territorially distributed objects and
facilities.

The functions of the A1 platform are
changed after firmware file recording to
the controller via Ethernet / Internet.
All firmware can be stored in the
database, and a small file of about 100
KB can be generated for each controller
during the production process or at the
request of a client. This file contains all
information about the functions and
algorithms of the controller.
This file is unique and suitable for the
controller with the corresponding
serial number. It is encrypted. Before
firmware recording, the data integrity
and compliance with controller will be
checked.
Now there are more than 100 firmwares.
Clients should not be worry about
described difficulties; client can start the
program for A1 function changing, and
making 3 clicks with a mouse and one
movement with a screwdriver. And the
controller will be ready to perform a new
task. Whole procedure shouldn’t takes
more than 10 minutes.
The platform A1 can be completely
autonomous after configuration and
startup due to the microprogram features
and the large amount of internal memory.

GC is GSM-module, designed for channel organization of GPRS between
controller A1 and server, where software “Octagram Flex” is installed.
This module can send SMS messages. It may be installed in A1, and turned on, in
the case of Ethernet connections’ absence of CEMP converter.
GĐĄ - MODULE OF WIRELESS COMMUNICATION AND SMS TRANSFER
In order to organize the interaction between peripheral devices and A1 controller, in
addition to direct contacts, input / output devices can be used: expansion modules,
modules and micro modules. For outdoor application micromodules can be covered
by protection layer (and letter ÂŤOÂť is added after device type mark in this case).
These adressable devices are divided into several groups:
FIRE, DIF – addressable micromodules of loop control are designed to control break,
norm, attention, alarm, short circuit of detector’s two-wire loop.
DTR, DTW, EMR – addressable micromodules, modules are designed to convert and
transfer to the controller information (for example conversion Wiegand-26 protocol
to Touch Memory).
TWS – addressable micromodule, designed for converting Wiegand-26 protocol to
Touch Memory, sending out by two outputs and transfer to the controller.
TMP, HMD, LAC – Information addressable micromodules, designed for measuring
and transfer of information about temperature, humidity and illumination to
controller.
DGR, DLR, DGT, DLT, DGV, DLV, EMI, DHV10 – these addressable micromodules are
designed for voltage presence detection (circuit continuity) or to “dry contact”
control of the connected peripheral devices and loading operating administration.
DAD5, DAD10 – these addressable micromodules convert the voltage to digital ones,
and transfer it to controller (maximum voltage -5 V and 10 V accordingly).

We present you the basic element of the Modular engineering platform – the A1 controller. 25-years experience opened a new prospect to develop this technology using one controller, where our competi- tors are still using dozens or even hundreds of different devices. In addition to usability and ease of sale (customer quickservices, easy mastering, availability, etc.), controller A1 has significant economical advantages. ONE-controller-technology, instead of many ones, allows: - Us: 1. To reduce manufacturing cost; 2. To reduce equipment delivery time; 3. To provide additional discounts in the case of firmware purchasing; - Our partners: 4. To gain more, using available discounts; - Our customers: 5. To save on purchasing and maintenance of Octagram systems. One of relevant innovative advantage in our technology is the ability of recording to A1 controller at any time, which allows us to provide customer with special discount for the controller storage: with each passing day from purchasing date, microprogram cost can be reduced by 0.5%. The maximum discount is about 45%. Herewith, the usual dealer discounts and large order discounts can be saved. To clarify this fact, let us study some examples about how is the income of A1, in the case of preliminary purchasing. Situation 1. A dealer (trading house, installer … etc.), who purchased 10 A1 controllers with 30% discount by $875 (price of one controller = $125 x 0.7 = $ 87.5) for one of his customers. Documents preparation, shipping and de- livery time of A1 was about 30 days; moreover installation and starting-up have been continuing for 60 additional days. During system starting-up, dealer purchased microprograms for 10 lifts. He has received its, via email, at the payment day. Every day, microprogram discount was increasing; so that after 90 days, for one microprgram of the lift L64, this discount became about $184.59 ($ 586 x 0.7x 0.005 x 90); which could enable the dealer to save about $ 1846 additionally, i.e. more than twice of spending money buying A1. Situation 2. Similarly to situation 1, but, in this case end-user have directly ordered 10 lifts microprograms in com- pany “Octagram”. Octagram managers have contacted with dealer, for whom 10 controllers have been numbered and specified delivery time to end-user, as a result company “octagram” provided the last one with a discount about $ 882 ($ 586 x 0.7 x 0.005 x 43 x 10). Hence, a sum of 882$ was presented to dealer as a purchase credit. Thus, the dealer can freely of charge receive the next 10 controllers. Situation 3. In situation 2, the dealer did not want to use credit and received a commission of $750 (commission coefficient is about 0.85 of the discount or credit). These examples show that the storage of A1 controller in the stock is more beneficial. Thus, using shelved order procedure of firmwares, dealer can receive additional income in form of discounts, credits or commissions. • 3. Modular Engineering System 4 info@octagram.eu http://octagram.eu 5 Modular Engineering System in modern building TENDENCY AND REALITY Today, smart building technology become on-trend and desired one. Often, engineering solutions are designed using systems of different manufacturers, and sometimes using several subsystems of the same manufacturer. In the latter case, solution will be more reliable and easier to operate. So, the number of modules plays a key role in determining the quality of such system: the lesser different modules you use, the more efficient and reliable system you obtain! The main idea of Octagram approach is based on the execution of all tasks by one platform - controller with necessary substitutable software. Thus, the platform A1 can be used for any facility with any size and complexity. In our technology, there is no need to search and match equipment, one can determine necessary functions, and the compatible software can be directly ordered from the catalog; and as a rule, only the selected functions should be paid. Thus, in practice, our customers can combine modern tendency, real benefits and security and automation systems reliability. INNOVATIONS FOR YOUR SAFETY AND CONVENIENCE Using one-platform A1 for all tasks can be established owing to innovative system of controller interaction with information or executive devices via addressable module / micro module (patents RU 8501,0 US 9,146,552 B2). Due to this technology, any peripheral equipment, regardless of its manufacturer, can be connected. Due to the modular structure, the platform A1 has all known security systems functions while remaining simple to operate. This system can be sold and installed only in required configuration. The adjusting mechanism of controller built-in responses enables to fitting of system operation algorithm according to facility’s specificity and security service standards. Modern building is a complex consisting of many systems, where an access control system, security and fire alarm systems, engineering equipment management and other ones can exist. To ensure the comfort and safety of people inside the building, and protect the environment from possible dangers, a well-coordinated work of these systems becomes very necessary. Many years experience showed that complex with built-on-one-platform systems for engineering equipment control and security are more reliable and easier to operate. That’s why many customers choose Modular Engineering Platform (MEP) ÂŤOctagramÂť for their building security systems EXPLOITATION SIMPLICITY AND CLEARNESS The Octagram Flex software has a user-friendly interface that allows to work without special engineering background or additional training. The information about the current events and the system state can be appropriately displayed on monitors, and duplicated on the control panels, which have visual assembly of buttons and keys. Traditionally, special attention is devoted to system protection from disruption attempts, and this don’t only concern data encryption, individual project licensing; but also access differentiation to systems’ settings, administration and monitoring for various operators groups. UNIVERSALITY, SCALABILITY AND DISTRIBUTABILITY The Octagram Flex software structure equally ensures efficient operation of small and large systems. Entire system administration can be performed using a single console. Thus, changing small facility by a large one, or adding some new security features don’t require any software modifications and additional habituation with new interface. The Octagram system can be built on one central server or on, territorially distributed, several ones. In the latter case, it is possible to monitor systems security state and life-support in largely territorially distributed objects and facilities. All firmware can be stored in the database, and a small file of about 100 KB can be generated for each controller during the production process or at the request of a client. This file contains all information about the functions and algorithms of the controller. This file is unique and suitable for the controller with the corresponding serial number. It is encrypted. Before firmware recording, the data integrity and compliance with controller will be checked. Now there are more than 100 firmwares. Clients should not be worry about described difficulties; client can start the program for A1 function changing, and making 3 clicks with a mouse and one movement with a screwdriver. And the controller will be ready to perform a new task. Whole procedure shouldn’t takes more than 10 minutes. The platform A1 can be completely autonomous after configuration and startup due to the microprogram features and the large amount of internal memory.
