6. EVOLUTION OF MICROCHIPS
FIRST GENERATION :-
Vacuum Tubes were developed between 1940 to 1956
Used Vacuum Tubes for switching circuits and Magnetic Drum for storing
memory
Operated on Machine Language Only
Examples : ENIAC which had 2,000 Vacuum Tubes
9. SECOND GENERATION : (1956 – 1963)
Transistors were used in place of Vacuum Tubes
Faster , Economical , Energy Efficient
Shifted from Machine Language to Assembly Level Language
Magnetic Core Technology was used for storage of Memory
11. THIRD GENERATIONS : (1964 – 1971)
Transistor were replaced by Integrated Circuits (IC’s)
Much smaller in size and placed in Silicon Chips
Increased Speed and Efficiency
For the First time Monitors and Keyboards were possible to use
13. FOURTH GENERATION : (1971 – PRESENT)
Microprocessor came into existence
Thousands of IC’s were built in a single Silicon Chip
Super Small in Size (Nanometer)
Super Fast and Easy to store more Memory
Brought Smartphones into Reality
21. SNAPDRAGON (QUALCOMM)
First to access 5G Data
Up to 45% faster CPU and 20% faster graphics
Portrait Mode-like 4K Video
Smarter and more Responsive Voice Assistants
10nm makes it tiny and efficient
22. FOUNDED : November 2007
Products : 200 , 400 , 600 , 800 (Latest)
24. BIONIC CHIP (APPLE)
64-bit ARM-based Chipset.
Used in iPhone XS , iPhone XS Max and XR.
15% Faster than earlier Chipsets.
50% Lower Power Usage
Manufactured by Company “TSMC”
25. Apple’s First 7nm Chipset is A12
6.9 Billion Transistors are used in One A12 Chipsets
